Bryansville residents and relatives circulated with family visits and gatherings. Bertha Wise stayed with siblings N J Wise and wife. Nelson Fulton and Hugh Evans families traveled to Lancaster. Carl Snyder family and Ruth Emma and Smith joined a York trip. Ladies' Aid met at Mrs Cora Myers. Charles and Ralph Fulton families hosted and visited Smith Fulton and others. Grace Fulton and John visited York relatives. John Evans visited Hugh A Evans. Joel Swaggert vacationing with Bryansville parents. Robert Fulton family and Smith visited Mary J Mc Laughlin Sunday evening.
Descendants of Joan and Sara Wise Walker gathered at Samuel Drucks home in Lower Chanceford on Tuesday May 30 for the annual Walker clan reunion. About 200 guests attended and shared a dinner together.
The Delta Chapel Sunday School class of girls honors Mrs. Kenneth Jones for her teaching with a sterling silver candle holders gift. Miss Alma Morton delivers the presentation speech. the group includes Julia Cowley Eva Sue Cox Eleanor Cox Mabel Marian Whitiford Jean Whitiford Louise Jones Alma Morton Louise Dowling Mildred Baker Sophia Tobin Emma Montgomery Evelyn Singleton Isabel Galbreath Ida Mae Grafton Helen Rickey Ruth Elia Wiley. Mrs. Jones plans to depart for Littles Lana this week as Marian Fisher, her sister, is named to teach the class.
G S B McCreary of Dillsburg has been named York County correspondent by George H Stevenson in charge of Baltimore Land District operations under the emergency farm mortgage plan. York farmers are urged to visit McCreary in person if possible to discuss loan applications and housing financing under part three of the program.
The Ladies Auxiliary of the Delta Method Protestant Church met Thursday afternoon at the church. Mrs W T Drown presided with scripture reading by Mrs J Wilson and the treasurer's report by Mrs Warren Pennington. A church basement sale is planned for Tuesday evening June 12. The gathering closed with prayer by Rev B F Rutey. Present were numerous ladies and Misses Anna Jones Anna Rearry Laura Boswell Cassandra Jones Dorotha Cantler Mary Poff and others.
The Social Service Club of Stateville Church met at Mrs. James Mackison Jr on June 9. The program proceeded with new member appointments and a mock wedding. Refreshments were served to a large list of attendees including the Mackison and Snodgrass families and numerous others.
Flintville Miss Jetty Lee Kahoe spent several days last week at the Home of her uncle Stanley Kahoe. Miss Anna Whiteford, who has been ill, is improving. Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Manifold and daughter Nancy J. spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Melson Rowan. John Walker is on the sick list. Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Kahoe with son Gilly and Miss Betty Lee Kahoe visited relatives and friends in Baltimore on Friday.
The 12th McGurk family reunion was held Tuesday at the home of Mr and Mrs Calvin Prail of Red Lion with a lawn dinner and games. Attendees included Fi Maurer, Mer Prail, Daniel McGurk, William McGurk, Ralph Heffner Jr, John Warhart, Earl Schnetzka, Dames McGurk, Margie Jones, Jula Prall, Gladys Burns, Daisy Burns, Ida Burns, Helen Burns, Joan McGurk, and many others.
Friends gathered at Miss Taetuel's home for a birthday anniversary party with refreshments and gifts. Attendees included Elisabeth Kulorn Sophia Tobin Marie Harvey Virginia Ho Fien Roberts Frances Robertson Elizabeth Wayne Pauline Clark Mary Islmcbeth Dunlap Verna Wise Ferrin Montgomery Euna Wise Dorothy Roberts Isabel Galbreath Ernest Kilburn Benjamin Tobin Donald Dick Roy Kolbus Randall McLaughlin Blaine Williams Wilson Galbreath and Dawd Galbreath.
Sunday school will begin at Vernon Church on June 18 at 2 o'clock. The event invites local families to attend and participate in the religious instruction session.
Baltimore visitors and family gatherings mark a string of weekend events in Harford and nearby communities. Guests include Miss Esther Wilson and family in Pylesville, James Gladden visiting Rocks grandparents, and Elizabeth McBride vacationing at Highland with local gatherings noted. A new baby, Breckenridge Heaps, born June 4 at Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore.
The Lower Chanceford High School Alumni Association held a banquet at the local Chanceford Church on a Wednesday evening May 31. About a hundred alumni and friends gathered for a varied program including class roll call, remarks by officers, singing, invocation, and toastmaster remarks. Speakers included Rev Fleck and Dr. Fulton, with performances by Mrs H H Fulton, Lomas, Weaver, and others.
A damaged OCR fragment lists numerous individuals and families including Mr and Mrs Ad Sorat, Mars Weller and daughter, Tsoris and son, and several Engle, Norris, Workinger, Anderson, and Marsteller families from Norejyat and surrounding areas, with partial names and relationships. The text reads like a social or genealogical notice with scattered surnames and relations. no clear event or date is given.
The Slate Ridge Presbyterian Church ladies met at Mrs. J. Thomas Gailey's home on Thursday afternoon June 1. President Mrs. J. T. Harry led devotionals and announced a Maud Muller themed gathering with house dresses and sun bonnets.
Rev B W Jones delivered an address and offered prayer at the Stateville Presbyterian Church. The church choir sang several hymns over station W O RK York during the regular morning devotional exercises on Saturday morning June 3.
Clarence Parke Scarborough of Delta, son of Mr and Mrs C P Scarborough, completes the 1933 Penn State class. He attended Dickinson Junior College a year before Penn State and belongs to Phi Kappa Psi. Graduation exercises were held Monday evening June 5.
The Home Missionary Society of Delta Methodist Church elected officers at a Monday gathering hosted by Mrs. Harris Perkins. New officers include President Mrs. Warren Williams and Vice President Mrs. Alta Hughes, with Laura Oswell as Secretary and Alma Macomber as Treasurer.
County high school agriculture supervisor Charlies D Carey announces the year’s honor group. Of 100 students, 23 earned 90 percent or higher. Members include Arthur Arstig, Raymond Meckley, and others from Codorus Township, Dover, and Fortier areas.
A fragmentary card lists officers for a Cardiff community group including co president APs, treasurer S Jo Adars, secretary Massy Rheo, and other roles. Names of members such as Miss Woe Herry Tinchmeon, Misses Aline McCurry, Florence Min nick, and Charlotte Pennington appear along with event notes and evening activities.
Whiteford hammered Highland 11 to 2 at Whiteford last Saturday June 3 with A. Lloyd and McNutt blasting home runs. Paighes caught well behind Regan and N. McNutt’s steady pitching supported the big offensive night. Next up June 10 Whiteford meets Taylor at Whiteford.
The W C T U will meet with Mrs Nelson A Heaps on Wednesday June 14 at 2 PM. All department heads should bring their reports. A good program is planned and all members and friends are invited to attend.
Delta WCTU held a regular meeting at Mrs Charles Myers A atyers home with Miss Alice Merdy leading. Hearings covered child education by Mrs Ida Ayres and Mrs J T Barry and Brothers Influence by Miss Letitia Skent and Mrs Charles Myers A special session is planned for June 14 at the home of Nelson A Heaps.
