Delphi Union Bank and Trust announces promotions for four officers. John F. Klepinger rises to executive vice president and remains trust officer. Audria Clements becomes vice president and assistant trust officer. O. Erwin named cashier. Richard L. Rosenbury named loan officer after joining in March from Frankfort with prior finance experience.
A teachers reception honoring all Delphi Community Schools staff is set for Monday October 10 at 7 30 p m hosted by the School and Home Association. Dues 50 cents per parent payable via notices sent home September 22. A called SH A meeting October 24 in the high school auditorium will discuss Delphi School Corporation conditions. Officers listed: Mrs Don Kelly president Mrs Ted Randall vice president Robert Dittman vice president Mrs Robert Duff secretary and Mr and Mrs Wayne Landes treasurers.
The William Lee Robinson case is scheduled for a jury trial on October 3 at 9 30 a.m. in the assigned court, marking a formal trial date and time for the proceeding.
Artus Rodenbarger of Cutler was taken to Lake Manor Nursing Home at Monticello for care.
Eldon Robeson announced Miss Diana Rohrer of Elkhart is appointed Assistant Extension Agent Home Economics in Carroll County starting October 1. Rohrer recently graduated from Manchester College and has prior experience as an agent in training in LaPorte County and worked with recreation programs.
The county use department reported a gas tax intake of 34 970 67 for August on Tuesday morning. The sum boosts the department’s monthly revenue stream and supports local road maintenance and related services.
Four accidents were reported to the Sheriff Department during the past week. Incidents included a two-vehicle collision on county road 800 South near Carroll County injuring Juanita Johnson and Dawn Thompson with both cars totaled. Other crashes involved a Logansport driver and a truck near Burrows, a Mishawaka driver skidding into a hillside near Delphi with no injuries, and a Flora motorist leaving the road on slick blacktop southeast of Camden with no injuries. Damages ranged from minor to total losses.
Mrs. Roger Branigin and others host the Petticoat Caravan 1966 luncheon for Democrat women in White and Carroll Counties. Wives of state and local candidates travel routes with events in Lafayette Fowler Rensselaer Wabash and Indianapolis area venues include Pirates Roost and 4H building in Wabash.

Carroll Consolidated Cougars defeated Oracle 32 to 25 at Carroll County Country Club. Earl Dennisday led Carroll with a 10 34.7 two mile clocking.
A break-in at Benny Dyer’s west of Flora on Tuesday afternoon September 13 yielded 80 dollars stolen. Mrs. Dyer found the theft upon returning after four hours. Entrance was through a screen door. An earlier Monday night break-in attempt at the same residence failed. Flora Police and the Sheriff department investigate.
County Auditor J Dewey Zinn received a state check for 63498.25 covering six months of intangible tax. The county kept 25 percent, with the remainder divided among Delphi Community Schools 19508.90 Carroll Consolidated 17776.15 Twin Lakes 8461.55 and Rossville Consolidated 1877.09.
Clyde E Williams Associates representatives discussed a 1962 sewer survey and agreed to update it at no cost. The council authorized the survey with no obligation on final construction contracts. A mutual release with the water department included a $3827.83 settlement, regarding a filter plant deemed unnecessary after project work began. Chief Merle Cree reported meter collections of $394.20.
The County Drainage Board, including Carl Dittman Ben Groninger Lee Flora and Charles Ritzler, heard landowner concerns in a full day session. Drains discussed included Everett L Cochran in Monroe Township and several others in Democrat Madison Liberty and Clay Townships. no action on Mary E Wagoner Drain. The next meeting is October 17 1966 with potential actions on multiple drains.
County Assessor Gerald Murphy was admitted to Home Hospital's Room 331 after a Wednesday morning transfer by Cornell ambulance from a local physician's office.
Delphi Oracle football pummeled East Tipp Trojans 42 0 for their 23rd straight win and third this season. Craig Groninger led with 14 points, while Delphi’s defense stifled the Trojans holding them to 17 rushing yards and minus four passing. The team now sets up a Friday visit to Peru to meet the Bengal Tigers.
Memory Lane Kindergarten opens with 23 students enrolled for the new year.
