The Red Cross Blood Bank visits Camden at the Community Building on November 8 from 10 to 4. A quota of 108 pints is requested. Obtain donor records from a Community Club Officer or church representative, or fill one out on site if unavailable. Donate a pint to meet the goal.
Lt. Robert Sharp stationed in Mannheim Germany sends word his family is returning by boat from Germany to visit Mrs. Sharp’s parents in Alexandria Virginia before traveling to Camden.
A miscellaneous shower for Mrs Wayne Cripe was hosted at the home of Mrs William Castle with Myrtle Johnston Agatha Williams and Eleanore Campbell assisting in preparations and hosting duties.
A Loyal class carried in a church supper Sunday evening at the Lutheran church. Afterward Fred Hedderich led the business session. The next meeting is set for the first Sunday in December at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Gerard Sieber.
Nineteen members answer roll call at the Cam den Women’s Literary Club meeting hosted by Mrs. Myra Gardner. The year’s theme is Highways to American Maturity with officers listed and plans for October 18 banquet at the Methodist church with travel talk by Mrs. Nelle Quinn.
Miss Pauline Snoeberger of Indianapolis spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Roy M. Gardiner. The regional Brethren conference is set for October 19 20 at Manchester College. Camden Luther League plans entertainments for Kokomo league members at the church Sunday evening. Mrs L B Stuart and Mrs Blanche Adams of Connersville attended Rally Day services at the Methodist church Sunday morning.
Public card party at Deer Creek Conservation club on Monday evening Oct 17. Carroll County broadcasts at 11 30 a m over WSAL Logansport with a five minute newscast by Art McDowell of The Citizen after a devotional. Mrs Bernice Wise to entertain Methodist WSCS Oct 20 with Florence Curts and Esther Beam assisting. Mr and Mrs Joe Roberson welcomed a daughter at Memorial hospital. Baptist Fidelis class meeting tonight at the church with committee including Harold Jones Orville Hinkle Mary Sharp. Lutheran Friendship Circle to meet and Marjorie Sieber to entertain Aim Hi Home Demonstration Club Oct 17 with Vernabelle Miller assisting. Mrs Mabel Snoeberger Maude Waters of Lafayette and Fred DeWitt guests of Mrs James Hare for her birthday. About 30 Sunshine Society members and sponsor Marjorie Wasson attended the State Sunshine convention in Crown Point.
Kathleen Wertz underwent surgery at St. Vincent's in Lafayette. The Wertz and Castle households hosted guests from Louisville and Lake Forest. Mrs Kenneth Bohannon entertained a dinner club group. A miscellaneous shower honored bride Mrs Max Rude at the Baptist church. The Lyons family visited Mrs Joseph Lyons in Dyer for the weekend.
Carroll Circuit Court September Term 1955 announces final settlement of the estate of William Orth Hughes. Co executrices Mae D Burkett and Sidney N Sutherland filed the final account for examination on October 28 1955. Public Service Commission of Indiana docket 26337 notes United Telephone Company of Indiana petitions to end toll service between Chalmers and Brookston Prairie exchanges, to establish free inter exchange service, and to reclassify Chalmers to a higher rate. A public hearing will be held at 10:00 a.m. Central Standard Time on Wednesday November 2, 1955 at the Commission rooms in Indianapolis. Public participation requested.
