Heart Attack Claims Life of Council Member E. Landis
E. Landis 65 retired Flora and Delphi businessman and former Flora school official died Monday at his Flora home after a heart attack. Born January 12, 1880, he served Carroll County Council since 1950, was Flora school superintendent, treasurer of the Flora Methodist church, and member of Masons and the Flora Community Club. Escapees Nabbed After Logansport Hospital Breakout
Three escapees from Logansport state hospital were captured Monday night and Tuesday morning. One is from Delphi and was found at the Delphi man's parents' home. Ben Wassell, 43, was nabbed by Night Officer Charles O. Coghill at 4:30 a.m. on East Monroe Street near the city park. All were returned to the hospital by Sheriff Carey.

Two Kokomo Men Escape Injury In Spectacular Crash
Two Kokomo men, Robert L. Kelly and Howard Maudlin, escaped serious injury after a high speed crash at the junction of highways 421 and 25 in Delphi. The auto skidded 250 feet, hit a guard rail, struck a utility pole and tumbled 30 feet down a hill. Kelly was cited for reckless driving after traveling 70 mph in a 30 mph zone. Both men were later found at work and in good health.
