Delphi High School starts its biweekly newspaper The Delphian for the 1925 26 school year. The Delphi Journal prints the first four weeks then the Delphi Citizen takes over for the next four weeks, repeating the cycle. Staff includes Editor Lewis Shaffer Assistant Ruby Walker Sport Editor LaVerne Goff, etc.
Harriet Jane of Galveston spends the weekend with Mr and Mrs Amel Spring at Senge.
Royal Scepter Coffee hosts a vaudeville night at the D of L Hall on November 17 and 18. A group of young performers present eight big acts to benefit a local cause.
The Carroll community holds an extra holiday for women on November 24 with a pot luck dinner and social hour. Mrs Helen McKinley leads the Home Economics extension from Purdue guiding the Clothing Project exhibitors. All county women invited to attend at 11 with four sandwiches and a covered dish, plus personal eating utensils. Coffee provided. An afternoon program features garments exhibit, style show, and music.
Mrs Frank Swatts, aged 65, died Wednesday after a three year illness at her Delphi home. She leaves her husband Frank Swatts and daughter Miss Emrick, and two sisters Mrs Elliott Barnard of Delphi and Mrs Charles Dunceal of Seattle. She was active in Delphi Presbyterian Church Governor Morton Circle Ladies of the G A R and local clubs. Born Addie Ream in Monticello she moved to Delphi as a girl and married Frank Swatts. Her passing follows a long period of patient care by family and friends.
One hundred eighty one men and boys attended a Father and Son banquet at the Methodist Church. A union meeting with multiple churches cooperated and a Swiss steak dinner was served for 50 cents. Dr Dunkel gave a forceful address criticizing a well known type of politician. Roy Clauser led singing and the service closed with a benediction by Rev Eikenberry.
Arrangements have been made for a noon luncheon for farm women on Monday November 23 in connection with the Seventh Annual Convention of the Indiana Farm Bureau Federation at the Severin Hotel Indianapolis on November 28 and 29. Similar luncheons at prior conventions were well received and a special speaker will attend.
C. O. Julius began updating fronts for two business rooms on the east side of the square. Modern fronts will be installed to enhance the street’s appearance. He has many renter applications but no leases signed yet.
Dr. LeMasters of the Wesley Foundation at Purdue spoke at Delphi Methodist Church last Sunday about work with youth and parental harmony. He noted his prior DePauw goodwill role and now serves Purdue Methodist students among about 1000 in the district, more than DePauw’s enrollment. Miss Anna Lamb replaces Mrs. Fred Heiland in Red Cross Roll Call work. A barn and straw stack on the Lewis Goslee farm near Tioga at the corner of State Road 44 burned Tuesday night at about 11 o clock, origin of the fire not stated.

The Delphi Chamber met in the high school auditorium and voted to sponsor a community Christmas tree and program similar to last year. The event will be supervised by H. E. The meeting featured a four reel film The Story of the Glass Bottle with lights failing during two reels.
Quail season opens this week and runs through December 30 with hunting allowed on all days except Sundays when prohibited by law. Indiana proclaims itself the greatest quail state, with birds reported abundant and hunters optimistic that the season will be strong. The law limits any hunter to a maximum of twelve quail per day.
The Harry Bohannon Post of the American Legion met Thursday evening and elected officers: commander Doc Vern Brown, first vice commander Lee Shaffer, second vice commander Jack Bennett, adjutant Ben Drake, finance officer Charles Bowen, chaplain Dr C C Crampton, historian Roy Gregg, and sergeant at arms William Lybrook.
Rev. Be. C. Wells displays a complete McGuffey reader set from first to sixth at the Historical Society meeting. The event, a regular McGuffeyite gathering, will take place on November 27.

The Junto Club will hold a seven o'clock dinner next Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. M. Pletcher. After dining, H. B. Wilson will speak on Indiana Penwomen and Forrest Orr will read the club paper The Jabberwock.
