Eva Holsinger awarded divorce from Vasa C. Holsinger with custody of Richard Lee to grandmother Lucy Boone. Richard and Vasa C. Holsinger may visit three to five days monthly. costs including 100 dollars for plaintiff’s attorney taxed. Other court actions include receivership reports, judgments, and dismissals in various civil and criminal matters.
Purdue University economist Dr George I Christie will address Delphi Public Library on cooperative marketing December 10. Invited by the local League of Women Voters, the program features Farm Bureau guests and is planned as a series with January 5 rural education talk by Dr Henry N Sherwood and an April 6 social welfare lecture by Senator Holmes of Gary.
In Delphi Tuesday election Republicans elected a mayor, clerk, and four councilmen while Democrats chose two councilors. Dr. F H Robinson won mayor over Dr A C Clauser by 11 votes amid ticket scratching by Republicans. Talmar Arnold reelected city clerk by large margin. council members elected include Buel Ulm and Walter Gocenour with Democrats strong in the Second ward.
Election results show 1175 mayor votes with Dr. Robinson 764 or 264? and Geo Cartwright 211? In 1917 mayoral tally was 515 with Robinson 264 and Cartwright 251. Ward totals: First ward Melvin Deeter 154 over T W Colvin 83. Second ward Victor Porter 240 over Chas Gros 185. Third ward G A Shaffer 218 over Francis Wilson 151.
The race between Dr. Robinson and Dr. Clauser centers on the City Marshal position. Republicans largely back Dr. Clauser and anticipate a new marshal. Officials expect no changes among other city employees.
Frankfort Indiana shows Republican Keller ahead of Democrat Klante for mayor by a margin. Lafayette same day reelects Republican Dr Albert Ross over Democrat George Durgan by more than 1000 votes. West Lafayette Republican ticket winds all local races. Attica backs Republican Charles T Jacobson for mayor after four years of Democratic rule. Logansport reelects Mayor Guthrie Democrat. John L Duvall elected Indianapolis mayor. Boston elevates Malcolm E Nichols the first Republican mayor in 18 years. Virginia reelects Democrat state treasurer. New Jersey voters elect A Harry Moore governor. New York sees James J Walker elected state senator and mayor, while Mrs John T Pratt becomes New York's first woman alderman.
Miss Greta Robinson of Delphi will leave Tuesday for Orlando to winter with Rev and Mrs Rea Martin former Delphi Presbyterian pastor. She will be accompanied by Mrs Lucie Lewis who will winter with her son in St Petersburg Florida.
A one o clock luncheon at Dame's Hotel gathered about thirty Carroll County Christmas Seal Sale workers. H B Wilson led the meeting as county chairman. Rev R B Kern gave an inspirational talk. Mrs James P Wason reported on county work and Lafayette district meeting outcomes. Plans were made for the coming sale and duties assigned. The National Tuberculosis Association aims to distribute over one billion Christmas Seals nationwide this year to combat the White Plague. Indiana's Tuberculosis Association notes a decade of declining deaths due to anti-disease efforts, powered by community support for the sale. Township chairmen for Carroll County were listed across Adams Burlington Carrollton Clay Deer Creek Democrat Jefferson Madison Rock Creek Tippecanoe Washington with Monroe awaiting a chairman.
The Pyrmont school hosted a Hallowe'en party for about 120 guests with children masked and parents guessing names. Prizes went to Mrs. Harry Metzger and Mrs. D L Barnhart for most correct guesses. An entertainment of songs and recitations followed, then games. SandWiches pickles wafers cocoa and coffee were served by the Home Economics girls.
At a Methodist board meeting the two weeks before Easter were set for special services. Other churches plan revival services then to hold simultaneous meetings.
Variety show features eight acts at the Degree of Labor Hall on November 17 1886 with Christmas seals in circulation. The Citizen office notes the lively program and festive charity effort accompanying the event.
Tax payments rushed as Friday receipts reached 53 000 dollars, Saturday 72 000 dollars, and Monday 80 000 dollars. Treasurer Wm Ashba warns of a grace period then launches a collection campaign to enforce full installments and penalties for late payers.
A Chicago bank messenger robbery last week led to the loss of registered mail bags including checks from Carroll County Loan & Trust Company. Local banks warn others to replace affected checks and prevent losses. no money is believed stolen, but the disruption is costly.
A Red Cross union service will be held at the Presbyterian Church at 7:00 p m next Sunday evening November 8. The union choir will assist in singing and township chairmen and workers are urged to attend. The program includes songs, solos, duets, and an address by Rev G E Jones with invocation by Rev Martinson and Benediction by Rev Jacobs.
The Delphi Ministerial Association announces a Father and Son banquet and meeting next Tuesday evening at the Methodist church. Tickets are fifty cents. Rev. Ambrose Dunkel of Indianapolis will speak, moderator for Indiana the Presbyterian church. Efforts through school officials and Sunday school superintendents aim to have every local boy attend.
The Delphi Chamber of Commerce will host a Thursday evening dinner at the Baptist Church. Dr. Stanley Coulter Dean of Men at Purdue University will speak, followed by a public meeting at 8 30 with a motion picture The Story of the Glass Bottle. The event invites the public.

The Ninth Annual Red Cross Membership Roll Call begins on Armistice Day November 11. Enroll by paying one dollar or more to become a member for the coming year. Membership funds support both national and local Red Cross work, with local donations staying in Carroll County to aid area programs.
