Camden and Burlington high school bands earned first division ratings in Class CC at the district contest held Saturday at Kentland under Clarence Marocco. Delphi entries in Class BB, including senior and junior bands and senior chorus, also won first division honors with the chorus nearly perfect on judges ballots. All first division groups advance to the state contest in Kendallville on Saturday April 7.

Track season opens at Peru Relays with Delphi results
The Delphi Oracles opened their 1956 track season at Bloomington Relays. Thirty seven schools and 1077 athletes competed. Jim Landis and Jerry Wagner starred for Delphi, Landis nearly cleared 19 feet in the broad jump and Wagner reached the quarterfinals in hurdles. Delphi swept relay placings, with the shuttle hurdle team of Wagner, Landis, Leonard Entzel and Willard Sprowl winning their division.
