Carroll County will receive the Prairie Farmer-WLS award of merit for its 4-H program of 1947. The award, announced by the County Extension Office from Purdue University, will be presented at the annual 4-H Round-Up in June for meeting set standards.
Prairie Farmer WLS and Purdue Extension Service award Carroll County 4-H for improved programs and higher membership. Plaque and Bronze Panel honor the county with strong 4-H leader and parent cooperation. State reports show merit awards up this year from 24 to 34 clubs. five counties receive gold awards for high enrollment.

Indiana University band with twelve piece orchestra led by Stan Sterbenz will perform at Ideal Beach Ballroom Stan Sterbenz Roy Boyer and Dick Smith are named among the performers and students. The event is part of Sunday dances featuring different orchestras each week. Dick Smith is a Delphi judge's son and IU freshman attends.
