V and Appliance Store to Open in Bradshaw Building

William Collins of Logansport rents the Howard Bradshaw building on Franklin street formerly Darragh's Clothing Store and will open a V and appliance store next week. Grand opening planned for March 24 25 26 with Jack M Helvey of Washington township as local manager. Helvey resigned to lead local operations. both men are veterans. Publisher and wife escape serious injury in wreck

Myron J. Johnson publisher of The Citizen and his wife Eileen Johnson escaped with one minor injury when their 1950 station wagon was demolished in a two car wreck near the Se bridge east of Lafayette on Highway 25. The other occupants Mrs. McKay and Mr. McKay received minor cuts and bruises. Mrs. Johnson was treated for a back injury and shock and released the next day. Mrs. McKay was cited for reckless driving with a $25 fine and six month license suspension.

Harold Brewer of Delphi alerted Sheriff Sparkey Carey to a crash on Battle Ground Road near Highway 25. State Police arrested James W. Crowder and Gilbert Olivian of Attica for an armed robbery linked to injuries suffered by Royal Hanover of Lafayette. Hanover, treated at St Elizabeth hospital, identified the suspects after recounting the attack and theft.

Beef feedlot tour scheduled Tuesday for county farmers

A county beef feedlot tour for county farmers is set for Tuesday March 22 with Purdue extension specialists Henry Mayo and Paul Mitchell leading. It starts 9 30 a m at the Jesse and Richard Johnson farm near Bringhurst visiting Payne and Yost farms before a 12 15 pancake and sausage lunch at Camden Community Building. Demolition Advances at Delphi American Legion Home

Work progresses on demolishing the old American Legion home in Delphi. The building was sold to Delbert Kuns for removal from the lot. After removal the Legion will add an underground storage room and then construct a parking lot on the remaining land.
