Dr Peter Linton of the State Veterinarian Department will speak at a county livestock breeders banquet March 21 at 7 pm in Delphi Presbyterian Church. Charles Meade is association president. Harold Berry to present gold medal. Tickets from the county extension office or from Mr Meade or Harold Thompson.
William Collins of Logansport rents the Howard Bradshaw building on Franklin street formerly Darragh's Clothing Store and will open a V and appliance store next week. Grand opening planned for March 24 25 26 with Jack M Helvey of Washington township as local manager. Helvey resigned to lead local operations. both men are veterans. TV service calls listed as a specialty.
Myron J. Johnson publisher of The Citizen and his wife Eileen Johnson escaped with one minor injury when their 1950 station wagon was demolished in a two car wreck near the Se bridge east of Lafayette on Highway 25. The other occupants Mrs. McKay and Mr. McKay received minor cuts and bruises. Mrs. Johnson was treated for a back injury and shock and released the next day. Mrs. McKay was cited for reckless driving with a $25 fine and six month license suspension.

Bill Wood of 383 West Simpson Street Ventura California son of Mayor and Mrs Charles A Wood of Delphi is a patient in a Ventura hospital following major surgery He is recovering and expects to return home this weekend
Miss Frances Jean Redmon of Radnor, a Delphi high school senior, won one of two $150 Elks College Grants awarded by the Lafayette Elks. The winners advance to the state Elks scholarship contest.
The Delphi Lions Club selects Celia Jane Riley age 87 as Cheer Club member of the week. She has been best known locally for bellfast for six months and residents are urged to shower her with cards letters visits and small gifts during the week.
Harold Brewer of Delphi alerted Sheriff Sparkey Carey to a crash on Battle Ground Road near Highway 25. State Police arrested James W. Crowder and Gilbert Olivian of Attica for an armed robbery linked to injuries suffered by Royal Hanover of Lafayette. Hanover, treated at St Elizabeth hospital, identified the suspects after recounting the attack and theft.
Local track coach Norm Ebrite joins a March 21 clinic at 7 pm in the Logansport High School gym. The free event targets coaches but welcomes fans and boys interested in track. Ebrite will speak on hurdles.
The Carrol county Selective Service Board has been requested to furnish three men for induction into the armed forces on April 20.
Russell Sutter 57 owner of Otter and Son Garage in Delphi died after a heart attack while visiting friends at Browns Grocery in Colburn. Born December 22, 1897 he was survived by his widow Opal, son John, mother Ida Sutter and siblings. Funeral with Masonic rites at Colburn Lutheran Church.
Serfions of the Delphi high school will present their class play The Inner Willy tonight and Friday night in the high school auditorium. The comedy follows a sedate Willy as three overprotective maiden aunts monitor his first dates and misadventures.
Garnette Smith has been taken to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester Minnesota for observation and treatment.
Achievement Week opened for Girl Scouts and Brownies with a Friday program by 120 girls. Seven first class badges were awarded, and younger troops planned church visits and cookie drives as leaders praised the group’s effort.

Delphi high school's double octet will make its fifth annual tour on March 21 and 22 visiting Williamsport Cov ington Garfield Terre Haute Shelburn Linton and Bloomfield. The group performs Monday evening in Terre Haute and continues Tuesday with Nancy Hall Helen Crosby Nancy Simons Nancy Rule Judy Henderson Susan Roach Sara Johnson Mary Lou Parks Ted Williams Mike Johnson Ned Rule Jim Landis Paul Laprad Ray Stokes and Ed Wagoner on the tour. Lafayette police saw three men with tires in Lafayette leading to discovery of eight tires stolen from Coghill Auto Sales Delphi and a prior tire strip of a 1941 Plymouth on highway 25.

A county beef feedlot tour for county farmers is set for Tuesday March 22 with Purdue extension specialists Henry Mayo and Paul Mitchell leading. It starts 9 30 a m at the Jesse and Richard Johnson farm near Bringhurst visiting Payne and Yost farms before a 12 15 pancake and sausage lunch at Camden Community Building. Mitchell discusses marketing outlook at 2 p m with Mayo leading silage and feeding equipment demonstrations.
Work progresses on demolishing the old American Legion home in Delphi. The building was sold to Delbert Kuns for removal from the lot. After removal the Legion will add an underground storage room and then construct a parking lot on the remaining land.
