Community club and fraternal society news welcomed for the department. Contact the office at telephone 14 for announcements and notices.
One hundred neighbors and friends welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Mc Curdy and son Dale as they left the south Delphi neighborhood for a move north. Attendees included numerous families and individuals listed, sharing dancing, card playing, and frolics during a Wednesday evening gathering.
Donabelle Chapman and Russell Flora were married Sunday afternoon at First Brethren Church in Flora with Rev Ankrum officiating in a single ring ceremony. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. B F Chapman, wore angel blue crepe and pink roses. the groom is a Bringhurst High School graduate and Northcutt Bros. employee. They will live with the bride’s parents for now.
The Philathea class of the Presby terian church elected officers at their anniversary meeting. President Miss Iona McCain vice president Miss Nellie Haughey secretary Miss Florence Crawford treasurer Mrs Zelpha Kramer. They voted to give all treasury funds to the church budget. Contests were run by Mrs Zelpha Kramer Miss Josephin Shealey Miss Nellie Haughey and Miss Mary Hinkle. Mrs George Garrison organized the supper arrangements.
A Pocahontas lodge gathering hosted Friday night in Monon with 32 Delphi attendees. Delphi members led a drill, including Vernabelle Grandstaff and Mary Jane Ward, directed by Earl Dow, as a flag was presented to Monticello by Mrs. Bessie Meadows for top tri county attendance. A future joint meeting of Carroll White and Tippecanoe counties is planned for late March at Wolcott.
The Colburn Home Economics club met at Mrs. Audrey Sheets home with 18 members present. Mrs. Stair presided, Mrs. Coffel assisted, reports from Purdue training meeting were shared, a $25 4-H contribution was made, yearbooks distributed, and the club sponsored the play Old Fashioned Mother on March 1 at the Colburn gym. Mrs. Neal to entertain March 22.
Children of St Josephs School directed by the Sisters presented a Washingtons birthday program at the K of C hall to a full house. Participants included Pauline Beck George Via Marie Schmitter Ardella Hoover Virginia Lucas Tobias Schmitter Robert Schmitter and Katharine Gibbons with accompanying music by Mrs Joseph Lathrope and Miss Ann Josephine Kempf. All school children joined in the choruses.
The Federated Missionary society of Flora will observe World Day of Prayer Friday at the Church of the Brethren beginning at 10 30. Rev G I Myers will speak in the morning and again in the afternoon after a noon cooperative dinner. A playlet will be performed and special music prayers and other features will follow.
At the regular meeting of the Jefferson Grange Tuesday evening the fourth degree will be conferred by the ladies of Tipwa Grange. Every member is urged to be present.
Mr and Mrs Robert Bradshaw hosted a Monday dinner at the Schermerhorn home for Prof Osborne of Wabash College who spoke to the Oracle club. Guests included Charles Bradshaw a Wa bash student who accompanied Prof Osborne.
Mr and Mrs Albert Riley of Rossville recently married and moving to Flora were surprised by neighbors at their home Thursday evening. Guests included Mrs Margaret Rodenbarger Mrs John Davisson Mrs Jesse Conrad and others. Refreshments were served.
Mrs Harold Wyatt of Camden announces the Carroll County Federation of Woman's Clubs annual convention will be held April 12 in Delphi. Wyatt, federation president, is naming committees and preparing the program.
A long ledger of charges filed for the March Term 1933 lists numerous individuals and firms in Carroll County with itemized cents and dollar amounts, including names such as Frank Lybrook, Airhart, Morrison, Collins, McManus, Wakeland, and others. The record appears as a public financial claim ledger with payments to lumber firms, elevators, and various residents.
The Carrollton township Farm Bureau will meet Thursday evening at the Carrollton school building. A program of readings and musical numbers will be given. Mrs. Fannie Witter will talk on The Farm Woman and Her Civic Responsibility and a playlet Price's Thermometer will be given by Jackson township.

The Oracle Club met Monday evening at Dr. and Mrs. A. C. Clauser’s home in South Delphi. Each member invited one guest. President Robert Bradshaw introduced Prof. Osborne of Wabash College, who spoke about his Rhodes scholarship experiences at Oxford from 1911 to 1914.
Several local clubs held meetings this week. The Madison township Home Economics club gathers March 8 at Mrs Mae Thompson home with assistants Mrs Mabel Crowel and Mrs Della Craig. Project lesson by Grace McCormick and Lena Hannell.
The Elbaicos Class of the Delphi Presbyterian church will hold a monthly social gathering Friday night in the church dining room.
Tipwa Grange held a canned fruit shower at the Pittsburg hall last Thursday for two Grange families hit by fire. The event followed a regular meeting with a one hour Men’s Night program led by Freeman Baum featuring Vernon Widener and others. Ockley orchestra performed several numbers. The Grange will meet Friday evening instead of Thursday due to a Tri-C Club play at Yeoman schoolhouse, with several cast members from the Grange.

A. B. Crampton assumed control in Vicksburg Mississippi guiding the Vicksburg Citizen and launching a famed wall paper edition before moving on to new duties in the section. His career highlights include prominent editorial leadership in newspaper circles.
Obituary style notice recounts the life of John Crampton a longtime Logansport and Delphi journalist editor and Mason who served as governor of the National Home in Marion and who moved through roles in the G A R Knights of Pythias and the Indiana Democratic Party He is described as the oldest Mason in some circles and as having a lifelong career in publishing and public service with ties to Vicksburg and Delphi. He died after a full life including Civil War service and editorial leaderships.
