A Buick sedan driven by three Chicago women struck an Interurban at Hamilton street Friday at noon. Brakes were applied sixty feet from the track and the auto hit the pole after a right angle spin. May Feinberg suffered cuts to her arms while Blanche Feinberg and Celia Levy escaped serious harm. The car was insured. The drivers blamed the Interurban.
Samuel Purnell, 14, son of Rep. Fred S. Purnell of Indiana, has secured a summer job aboard the US liner Claritif between New York and Europe. He serves as a dining room bus boy and left for the voyage on Monday.
Members of the Central Indiana Laundry owners Association met in Delphi on Wednesday. Guests included F. L. Jones of Fort Wayne and others from Logansport Huntington Kokomo Tipton and more. Hostess Mrs. E. H. Dame served fried chicken at the Dame Hotel. A visit to the Oakdale dam on the Tippecanoe river highlighted the trip and a vote set the association to meet again next summer.
The Delphi Golf Club announces a summer schedule with June 21 Attica at Delphi and July 8 Wolcott at Delphi. Further dates include July 26 Delphi at Wolcott Aug 5 6 Delphi at Monticello Aug 23 Delphi at Attica Sept 16 Delphi at Frankfort. arrangements with Rensselaer and Rochester are not complete. local players may qualify for tournaments with visiting teams.
Rockfield resident T. W. Hinton died unexpectedly Wednesday morning while visiting his sister near Independence Indiana. His wife and two sons Lawrence Burrows and Clarence Watseka survive him. Funeral services were held Friday at the Christian church in Independence.
Dr Frances Johnson and Miss Nancy Gibbs will hold a baby clinic on the third floor of the Court House Saturday June 20 beginning at 9:00 in the morning and continuing all day. Mothers with children under six are invited for examinations with Dr Ada Schweitzer likely assisting.
The Oakdale Historical Society June meeting will be in the Library Assembly Room on Friday evening June 26 with Robert Burton as chair. Oakdale night features talent from local members. a treat awaits members and visitors. The Pythian Sisters plan a 6:30 pm picnic June 26 at Delphi Park with sisters from Frankfort Flora Monticello Camden and Jockston attending and performing after supper.

The Woman's Club plans a garden party at Mrs. E. W. Bowen's home next Wednesday afternoon. Committee members include Mrs. George Smith Mrs. Yanus Wells Mrs. George Ives and Mrs. N. J. Howe. A group of high school girls in costume will perform Japanese songs. Mrs. Hamet J. Hinkle of Vincennes will speak as a candidate for state president of the Federation of Clubs.
The Make Merry class of the Methodist Sunday School will entertain Tuesday at 7 80 o clock with a weiner roast at the country home of Mr and Mrs Grover McCouch. Rev and Mrs R B Kern and Mr and Mrs S Mulvey assist.
Uniform Rank companies from Ko komo Logansport Lafayette and Delphi plan a joint meeting in this city next Monday evening at Castle Hall. The Uniform Rank degree work will be conferred on the Grand Prelate. Full attendance of the local company is desired.
The Burrows Home Economics club met at Mrs Earl Moore's home on Wednesday afternoon for a roll call response I favorite receipt. Members Helen Rasler Mary Stonebraker and Alice Janet Been gave clever readings. Refreshments were served to twenty one members with help from Mrs Bowman and Mrs Foreman.
The Profit and Pleasure club met at Mrs. W. F. Kerlin’s Rockfield home with a cooperative noon dinner and white lily rose décor. Speakers covered Indiana history trees and the Indiana Dunes while guest Mrs. F W Davis of Benito Texas spoke on Texas scenery. The next gathering, in July at Mrs. Frank Kennedy’s home, will focus on Patriotic Day.
The Camden chapter of the O E S extends an invitation to Fidelity Chapter No.58 of Logansport to be guests at a joint Monday evening gathering on June 22.
The Elbaicos class of the Presbyterian Sunday school and their families enjoyed a picnic at the home of Mr. and Mrs. E. W. Bowen last evening. Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Rohrabaugh and Mr. and Mrs. C. M. Crowl assisted the Bowens.
The Rain or Shine class of the Methodist Sunday school held a picnic at Delphi Park Monday evening in honor of Mrs A L Akers who has led the class for seven years. She will visit Ohio then spend winter in California. Members presented her a traveling case.
The Tippecanoe Home Economics Club will meet next Wednesday June 24 with Mrs Julius Hildebrand. The morning will be devoted to making Dress Forms and the Clothing Project lesson will be completed in the afternoon. A co luncheon will be served at the meeting.
The Missionary Society of the Presbyterian church gathered Tuesday at Mr. and Mrs. Walter Fauber's country home for an all day meeting. After a cooperative dinner devotional exercises were led by Mrs. Ed Baum. Talks on the Philippine Islands and the West Indies were given by Mrs. J. C. Downey and Mrs. John Todd. About forty ladies attended.
The Oracle edited by Karl L. Grimm of Fort Wayne won third place in the state high school publication contest for schools with under 300 pupils. South Side of Fort Wayne took first place. Grimm and his Delphi High School co workers earned credit for the honor.
The Indianapolis Star published a full page photogravure last Sunday showing Co. A. B. Crampton, state commander of the Loyal Legion and former Citizen editor, telling the flag story to little Miss Shortmeier, daughter of Secretary of State Frederick Shortmeier. Taken by Frank Hohenberger, the Brown County artist, the image suited Flag Day and many copies were framed locally this week.
The state board of health will present films for women’s class groups over the county next week. Screenings include June 22 at Hickory Grove Church and Burlington, June 23 at Flora and Deer Creek, June 24 at Rockfield and Camden, June 25 at Cutler, June 26 at New Hope School and Delphi with 2:30 pm and 7:30 pm showtimes.
Richard Samuel Yost, son of Mr and Mrs Harvey H Yost, died Sunday on the old fair ground farm and was buried Tuesday. He was one year and four months old. Funeral services were held at Musselman church above with interment in the Mus cemetery.

A convention of Epworth Leagues gathered at the Delphi Methodist Church to study ways to attract and retain young people in the church. Over 100 delegates from five counties attended, with Dr. Gratz of the Epworth Herald as the Wednesday speaker.
