German Baptist Conference Draws 20 000 At Ezra Shuler Farm
About 20000 are expected for the National Conference of the German Baptist church at the Ezra Shuler farm near Ockley. Meetings run Saturday through Tuesday with tents erected today. Worship begins Saturday 10 a m and Communion is Sunday at 5 p m. Elections for 12 elders occur Monday and Tuesday. Hosts are North Fork and Middle Fork churches with Camden and Flora housing visiting members. The event last occurred in this county in 1953 at John Oyler farm.

Carroll County Council Grants Most Budget Requests
In a two day session the Carroll County Council trimmed $2,181.40 from a $109,000 request for extra appropriations and fund transfers. They reduced jail oil burner by 581.40, jail power mower by 50, and County Home patient care by 200, while disallowing 300 for auditor help and 450 for commissioner raises, among others. Approved allocations included per diem for officers, mileage funds, summer uniforms, extra court house help, and gas and bridge funds totaling tens of thousands.

The Delphi Chamber of Commerce signed a contract with Illinois Fireworks Co for a Friday June 28 display at 9 p m in Riley Park. A county band contest and beauty pageant are planned. Librarian Miss Cochrane Injured in Rochester Case
Miss Mary Cochrane, a librarian, is a patient at the Zumbro Hotel in Rochester Minnesota after a fall at her home last Wednesday. Yeoman Native Killed in Illinois Auto Crash
Mrs. Fred Pagano 56 of Rockford Illinois formerly Grace Thompson of Yeoman was killed instantly in a head on Memorial Day crash near Rockford. Deputy's Son Found After Sunday Lebanon Search
Deputy Sheriff found nine year old Stephen Stafford in downtown Lebanon about 4 30 Sunday evening after a five hour search that involved more than 50 volunteers.
