Delphi vs Alderson West Virginia for Federal Prison Site
Acting Secretary of Labor E. J. Hemming will tour Delphi and nearby cities as Indiana officials push Delphi as the site for a new federal prison. Delphi advantages include water, drainage, roads, soil. Alderson would require distant sewerage, mountain water piping, long roads, and hillside anchoring.

State depositories named by board of finance
The state board of finance led by Governor Ed Jackson and state officials announced the depositories for state funds. Banks that filed early were placed on the list with Carroll county banks allotted funds: Carroll County Loan Trust & Savings Co. in Flora with 25000 dollars, Bright National Bank in Flora with 3600 dollars, and Delphi State Bank with 50000 dollars. Myers Construction completes 2000 yard cement block
Myers Construction Co at Oakdale poured a 2000 yard cement block over two days using twelve carloads of cement 1000 yards of sand and 2000 yards of stone. At the last commissioners session a stationery claim for the county attorney was allowed but later ordered withdrawn by the county attorney.
