Delphi Chamber of Commerce marks its second year with a Thursday meeting at the Presbyterian church. Directors were elected, annual reports show receipts of 2081.31 and expenses 714.18, and plans discussed include promoting mail service, road signs, and a federal prison site for women.
The fifteenth district will hold a meeting in Kokomo on January 20 1925. Deputy Charles O Brown and Good Intent Lodge No 29 members plan an engaging program with afternoon and evening sessions starting at 2 PM. Fare via Logansport and return will be about $2.00. The district covers Carroll Cass Howard Miami and Pulaski Counties.
The Pythian Sisters announce an event next Tuesday Jan 138th with a members only carnival supper from 6 to 7 PM. It honors two members Mrs Dan McDonald departing Jan 14 for Philadelphia and Mrs Joseph Calor leaving for California. A meeting will follow supper.
The Eastern Star Auxiliary will host a party next Thursday afternoon at the Masonic Temple. Retiring and new officers will preside with Mrs. Cloyd Kerlin as chairman, assisted by Mary Ribbins T W Armstrong George Smith Bessie Timmons Nina Robinson Nellie Shaffer Julia Cowdin Mabel Mullin Fred Miller Grace Shaffer Will Smith Decia Gay Anna Trobaugh and others.
A branch of the American Association of University Women is formed in Delphi with twenty charter members. Miss Elizabeth Best and Miss Hilda Bowen report national work. Dues are $2.50 yearly. graduates of accredited colleges may be active members, others may join as associates after a year of study. Officers elected: President Elizabeth Best, Vice President Mindwell C. Wilson, Secretary Josephine C. Ives, Treasurer Hilda Bowen. Dues due by February first to Miss Hilda Bowen.
The Gleaners Class of Burrows Presbyterian Sunday School hosted ninety members for a Jan 2 dinner in the church parlors with Charles Wellington toastmaster. Dr E D Wagoner, Martin Justice and Curtis McCain spoke as toasts. Mrs E D Wagoner was re-elected teacher for the year. The Junto Club scheduled talks, Dr L H Smith addressing "The Market Price of Perfect Health."
The Tri Kappa sorority will meet Tuesday at 7 o clock in the public library. The gathering will close in time for the Junior play, and a Naisonite demonstration is planned at Elless and Orr's.
The long standing South Delphi improvement suit has been settled freeing the city to revisit sewerage streets and a proposed high school. The Wm. R. Griffith road petition has lingered six years, and the city lighting plant purchase can be considered now that the case is resolved.

Cleona M Chittick resigns as administrator of Andrew J Chittick estate. Will 5 Holmes ordered to appraise for inheritance tax for multiple estates. probate approved for several named estates. Administrator appointments include Harry R Burns for Martha E Burns. Miscellany notes Lillian Blythe’s Peoria furniture tour and Carroll County Loan & Trust Co. stockholders reelecting directors. W T Lytle named chief clerk in Indianapolis.
City attorney reports final settlement with Neisler & Schryer receiver for 4250 as Jasper court fees bring total near the original contract. Supreme Court upheld a 2240.70 verdict plus interest from 1909 and about 300 in costs. The fight over 30 000 in alleged extras ended with the city paying most costs, ending a protracted litigation involving bonding companies and receivers.
A federal prison site for women is expected to be chosen soon. Attorney General Stone, nearing retirement after a move to the Supreme Court, aims to decide the site before leaving the cabinet. Two sites remain: near Delphi and at Alderson West Virginia, with Delphi previously visited and favorably received.
Water notice states metered and flat rate rents must be paid by the 10th to avoid penalties. Palmar R. Arnold, water agent, signs the notice and directs to request a money back baking powder offer.

County commissioners spent two days approving 65 aid applications from various townships. They appointed D. L. Musselman as Justice of Peace for Deer Creek and Claud Pattey as Bowman road superintendent. They reviewed road bids for the Kuns road project in Monroe township and delayed award until January 16.
Miss Elsa Gardner, a city schools teacher, exits Feb 1 to begin Indiana University second semester work. The Flora Community Club annual meeting and banquet on January 14 at the Community Building will elect new officers for 1925 and settle 1924 business. Flora High School orchestra to provide music.
