R E Coble, longtime auctioneer and dealer in this city, will relocate to Pompano and Dania Florida to launch a real estate business with Wilson Timmons. He will sell his household goods this afternoon and depart for Florida Tuesday morning. Coble’s local firm with Earl Page and his brother Larue Coble, Coble Bros, is part of Delphi’s business history and community life.

A Flora M. E. Church burned down Monday at five o clock causing about 15000 dollars in losses. Firemen offered no save attempt as it swept the building and attention was given to nearby structures. The parsonage contents were removed and Grant Cook aged 68 narrowly escaped injury when debris fell.
Miss Marie Brewer has gone back to her work in Chicago following a Christmas visit with her parents Mr and Mrs Frank Brewer.

Lola Marie Rohrabaugh became the bride of Clarence L Cleaver in a home ceremony at near Delphi on New Year’s Day. Rev Stanley officiated the single ring rite before immediate family. A three course luncheon followed and the couple left for a trip to Indianapolis.

Mrs Henry Summitt attended the funeral of her brother James Campbell near Indianapolis aged 74. He had lived south of Delphi about eighteen years ago.
Mrs Anna Snyder of this city and her son George of Detroit traveled to Newcastle on Thursday for a family visit with relatives.
At last Monday’s session the county commissioners allowed 406 for grading the road to Camp Tecumseh. They rejected O. S. Baird’s claim as county attendance officer and will appeal the issue to circuit court. The salary reduction for the county auditor was postponed for next week.
L E Myers Construction workers at the Oakdale dam are collecting money to send to Harry Snodgrass, called king of the ivories, in the Missouri state prison. They listen to his radio performances each Monday night from the dam commissary, while work is delayed by extreme cold and downstream ice gorges. A backwater from the gorges and a protective coffer dam have been built, and a dynamite ice-clearing plan has been abandoned.
The many friends of John Draper of near Cutler, former county commissioner, are saddened by his illness. He has not been well for some time, and his condition has recently become critical.
