Connersville, led by Sleet, visits the Oracles in a likely tight Indiana clash after a string of wins this season. The Cutler varsity meets Oracle seconds in the curtain raiser, as Delphi braces for Friday’s armory schedule amid hopes of an upset after a prior state tournament loss. Wednesday, the Oracles host Frankfort Hot Dogs seeking revenge for a Lebanon New Year defeat. Mrs Robert VanNatta hosted the country club bridge party this afternoon.
The Twentieth Amendment, drafted by Senator Norris of Nebraska, shortens current Representatives and Senators terms by two months. Newly elected members begin in two months, making government more responsive. The President will take the oath in January instead of March. A. B.
Large crowds jammed the license bureau as one third of county automobiles and drivers remained unlicensed. Manager Paul Ashba and assistants worked late since Saturday but could not clear the line. No time extension or arrests expected soon. The rush was unprecedented statewide.
Harry Harris sought for December 20 Nash theft in Mishawaka was arrested in Rockfield by Sheriff Bert Clifton. He admitted stealing the Nash and using it to visit. Held in local jail then returned to Mishawaka by city authorities.
Adults may enroll in a CWA program taught by licensed school teachers Reporter notes that high school diplomas are not required to enroll and an end term exam may earn credit from Indiana University No charge is mentioned for the course and the report cites County Superintendent George McCain as the contact person
Mrs. John Lytle former Delphi resident died Tuesday afternoon at her Indianapolis home. Her husband with I. H. Orr of Walton formerly owned the Adams and Afflis Drug Store as Lytle and Orr. Funeral services will be held this afternoon at the Brookston residence with interment there.
The Rockfield Bank closed its doors at 3 pm Wednesday as two state examiners arrived to plan liquidation. The notice announces a Sunday comic section in the Chicago Herald and Examiner featuring 16 color pages and three adventure pages. Radio Tubes Herb Smith.
Northern Indiana Public Service Company announces shifts in personnel. William E. Givler moves from Delphi to become chief dispatcher at the Delphi sub station. Ralph W. Melin relocates from Crown Point to Hammond to succeed Givler. E. C. Burch transfers from Monticello to Peru as district manager succeeding G. W. Hoss. Hoss moves to Monticello to work in Norman C. Seward’s office. Verne Scott moves from Monticello to Warsaw as chief clerk.
Chris Livingston seeks 25000 in a county circuit court against the Pennsylvania Pittsburgh Cincinnati and St Louis Railroad in a change of venue from Cass county. He alleges permanent injuries from a Dec 14 1931 collision near Logansport due to no watchman at the crossing and an unwarned car release. Attorneys Long and Yarlett for plaintiff. McHale Douglas and Myers Harker and Irwin for defendants.
Mrs. Leone Johnson of Brookston formerly lived in Delphi died Tuesday evening at St. Elizabeth hospital Lafayette age 63. Body to Grimm funeral home with funeral services planned in Indianapolis. She was sister of Chas Cartwright Delphi Mrs Hary Shig ley Monticello and Mrs Sue Walker.
Local radio fans in Delphi report heavy static from man made sources. Community groups including the city council and Carroll County agencies plan inspections to locate and remove interference from appliances and wiring. Citizens are urged to submit coupons to assist the effort and speed action.

The panel serves without compensation and aims to aid debtors and creditors in amicable, fair debt settlements.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation began operations under Glass Steagall with deposits insured up to $2,500. Permanent coverage to $10,000 starts July 1, with partial protection above that. Most state banks were invited into the fund as the FDIC screens members and approves certificates.
Ray Dudley 43 a former Flora resident and World War II veteran died January 1 at Legion Texas where he had been confined to a government hospital. He is survived by his widow son John of Logansport two brothers Glen Indianapolis and Harry Chicago and a sister Mrs Vera Winn Chicago. Funeral services will be held at Leiter funeral home Flora at 2 pm Thursday with burial in Zion cemetery.
The Rev. and Mrs. Wilbur V. Day move from Medaryville to the Delphi Methodist parsonage. Day will deliver his first sermon Sunday morning after being appointed to succeed Rev. Benjamin Rist, who becomes assistant superintendent of Methodist hospitals in this conference.
The Citizen lists revised voting precincts for Deer Creek township aimed at equalizing voter distribution. Precincts include South precinct along the north line of sections 25 through 29 to Franklin street and Bicycle Bridge, North of that line, West of Market street, from Deer Creek north to city limits, north of Deer Creek and east of Indiana street.
