Citizens in Vermillion and Fountain counties accuse Charles W. Zeigler of steering major routes to favor Attica. They say the Dixie Bee Line detoured from its Bee Line path toward the east to include Attica, with paving plans to solidify the detour. Dana residents complain the Ocean to Ocean highway was shifted from route 81 to route 33 passing near Zeigler’s home, adding about sixty miles to the Indiana segment.
Wm Schweiger of Delphi is a leading Carroll county exhibitor in the National Seed Corn Show in Chicago March 2 to 7. The Sears Roebuck Agricultural Foundation sponsors the event with 17000 in prizes and a 1000 prize for the best ear of seed corn in America. BE Heaton notes careful ear selection and testing could boost the 1925 crop, and germination testing may add up to a billion bushels by harvest time.
A Ford touring car driven by Clif Ford Bailey was struck broadside by a car driven by Wm Suddoth near the Catholic church corner. Bailey family returning from Buck Creek funeral endured a jolt. their son clung to the door to avoid a fall. Bailey kin includes Mrs C S Redding.
The church will hold morning and evening services tomorrow. Rev. A. R. Ferguson of Indianapolis will preach at the services.
Democratic members of the Indiana senate fled the chamber to dodge arrest and stop Senate Bill 800 aimed at redrawing districts. The GOP proposal would move Lawrence county from the Third to the Second district, risking a more secure Republican edge. A quorum walkout could stall key bills, with adjournment required by March 9.
Democrats returned to Indianapolis after a failed Penrod bill that would shift Lawrence county from the Third to the Second district. They argued the bill would tilt the political map, leaving the Third with 72,315 votes and the Second with 99,472, while Republicans blame the elopement for potential party wreckage.
C O Julius has been confined to his home this week due to influenza illness.
Owing to the very soft condition of the roads all trucking operating of bus lines and heavy hauling of all kinds is prohibited on all State Roads until further notice. Any violations will be promptly prosecuted. Indiana Highway Commission announces the ban and enforcement.
Governor Ed Jackson urges Indiana residents to fund a Sullivan relief effort naming the Red Cross as receiver and administrator of a 100000 dollar permanent relief fund. Contributions may be left at The Citizen's National Bank to aid orphans widows and the aged with no administration costs taken from donations. Wm. Grant Smith chairs Carroll County Red Cross relief drive.
Governor Ed Jackson signed the Lindley cooperative marketing bill on February 23 with an emergency clause making it law. The measure echoes the 1923 act, survives court challenges, and allows Indiana farmers to legally form cooperative marketing associations.

Marriage licenses were issued this week to Charles G. Thomas and Essie B. Powell of Democrat township, Harry A. Shockey of Delphi and Mae Pritts of Flora, John Wesley Shepeard of Lafayette, R. R., and Jessie Allen Smith of Camden.
The secretary of state allocates gasoline tax funds to counties. Carroll county earns 18 140 19 total from 556 52 miles of roads with 7 705 41 for mileage and 5 434 78 from equal share of half the state fund. Clinton tops gravel mileage at 840 miles. Miss Effie Campbell of Camden died by hanging Tuesday night. At forty nine she had long health issues and resided with her elderly mother Mrs Eliza beth Campbell. Found by her mother, a chloroform box was nearby. Coroner ruled death by strangulation. She leaves two brothers Oscar and A G Campbell. Funeral held Friday at Camden Baptist Church with Rev Edrington officiating. Interment in Paint Creek cemetery.
John H. Edwards of Mitchell Indiana rises from interior department solicitor to assistant secretary under Hubert Work. He is known in Delphi for a visit there to inspect pees sites for.
The Chamber of Commerce schedules its next meeting for March 12 with a banquet served by the American Legion Auxiliary. Oakdale firms operate on pay day the 5th and L. E. Meyers Construction Co. now has Delphi phone for local calls. A Red Cross appeal for Sullivan mine disaster victims was referred to individual members.
The city council met Tuesday evening and appointed C. T. Amick as Park Board member to replace O. L. Scales who moved away. They halted previous sewer actions for South Delphi and Elmwood. new proceedings begin with a March 24 hearing for property owners. Engineer Brossman reported on electric utility status and railroad crossing improvements, while Chamber of Commerce directors discussed city lighting plans.
