Work on the Oakdale Dam shows poured concrete blocks and rising abutments with the river division channel generating large waves and rock detachment. A rock struck A Kersey causing a scalp wound, while Homer Clark broke his leg near the site.
Delphi Lodge No. 80 marked its anniversary at Castle Hall with a six thirty start. A bond drawing listed owners and amounts while a program of music and readings followed. Funds from matured bonds may be collected at Carroll County Loan and Trust Company Bank as reports show the lodge thriving. county meeting set for Flora with Apollo Lodge providing music and a six o'clock dinner for attendees.
A. W. Wolever keeper of record and seal for No. 80 reports nearly one hundred dollars collected this week to donate one day’s wages. Funds will be forwarded to the Grand Lodge today.
The Indiana Federation of Clubs year book arrived for Carroll County principals showing five federated clubs with 226 members. Details name Camden, Cutler, Delphi groups and founding years with leadership credit to County Chairman Mrs. L. H. Smith.
The Woman's Club of Delphi meets Friday at 2 30 pm at the Public Library shifting the date from Wednesday. Guest speaker Mrs D Pirie Beyea of New York City will discuss child welfare and her Chautauqua lectures may command up to 200 a lecture. She arrived from Indianapolis where she spoke on Grasping your opportunities.
The Ladies Auxiliary of Jefferson Township met at Mrs Sam Maxwell's home Tuesday afternoon. County Nurse Mrs Roy Gregg gave a talk on school children. Fourteen ladies attended. The next talk will be at Mrs Gladys Million's home on Tuesday afternoon March 3. An all day meeting to make Spring hats is planned at Mrs Nettie Schock's home on Friday February 27.
The Historical Society will hold its February meeting at the Public Library on Friday evening February 27. Rev. E. C. Wells will give an address and the paper Farming Fifty Years Ago will be read by a contributor. Misses Elsie and Dessie Wells will provide music and letters from local Forty-niners will be read.
The Oracle club will gather Monday evening with Mr. and Mrs. James A Shirk for a club meeting.
Mr and Mrs Abner Bowen entertained the Junto Club Tuesday evening at their home. At each place were name cards and nut cups in cherry tree and Washington hat designs with cherry twigs and red carnations forming an elaborate centerpiece.
John McCormick, longtime Delphi resident and former Carroll County treasurer, died Saturday after a six year illness. He served as secretary treasurer of Carroll County Loan and Trust Co. Bank, was a Presbyterian and Mason, and held township trustee and county treasurer roles. Funeral at Presbyterian church with Knights Templar and Masonic Cemetery interment. He leaves wife Nancy Lesh McCormick and daughter Ruth.
G C McCouch moved from Chas Lehnert’s farm near Falling Springs to a newly purchased farm north of Pittsburg. Early one morning a would be buyer called at the house seeking a quart. Prosecutor Rothrock and Sheriff Sink later arrived with a search warrant based on an affidavit claiming whiskey purchase at the house, but the McCouch family had no involvement and were disturbed in their first week in the new home.
Real Minstrel Show presented at I. Hall on February 23 and 24. Details are limited but the event promotes entertainment through a traditional minstrel format.
Doris Lilly aged five years six months died at St Elizabeth's hospital after an operation for appendicitis. She was taken to the hospital last Tuesday. She was the daughter of Mr and Mrs Guy Lilly of Jefferson township. Funeral services will be Sunday at Oak Grove at two o clock with interment at Monticello.

Nancy Ebblinghaus infant daughter of Mr and Mrs H T Ebblinghaus of Bruceville died Thursday night. Born in Delphi last September while her father taught Agriculture at Delphi High School. Purdue graduates the Ebblinghauses were newlyweds in Delphi and had many friends. Funeral at 2 30 Saturday at Mrs Morehouse home near Battle Ground. Lyle Kimble Will and Arthur Rider bound over to circuit court on liquor charges. Arthur Rider charged with selling liquor, Will Rider and Kimble with possession and transportation. Arrests followed affidavits by prosecutor Rothrock. searches at Arthur Rider home and Kimble residence led to a quart of liquor. All were jailed then released after posting bond.
Mrs Barbara Reppert wife of Benjamin Reppert died at the family home in Pyrmont after a lingering illness. She was born November 27 1849 and was 75. Funeral services will be held Saturday at the Pyrmont Church of the Brethren with interment in Pyrmont cemetery. She left husband four sons and one daughter thirteen grandchildren and five step grandchildren plus a brother Solomon Ulrey. James Obear Jr won a debating honor at DePauw University and will join the DePauw Notre Dame debate team.
Miss Nettie Wise daughter of Noah and Mrs Wise of Flora and Harvey Skiles son of David and Mrs Skiles of Rossville were married February 14 at Rev Leedy’s home in Flora. They have bought a farm near Rossville and will be at home after March first.
A Purdue University electrical engineering student and Christian youth will speak at Rockfield Presbyterian Church Sunday evening February 22 at 6 45. A reception in his honor will be held before the talk, sponsored by the church Missionary societies. Come learn more of China.

County road fund cannot pay January and February wages as money is exhausted. About $13,000 from the state gasoline tax will arrive March 1, enabling payment, then funds may run dry again. Mrs. Al Dunkle a former Delphi resident died last week at her Indianapolis home. She had lived in Delphi during the tenure of her husband as superintendent of the Delphi Schools.
