Bowen Man Dies Of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning In Furnace
An investigation found carbon monoxide fumes leaked from a defective Bowen furnace at the home of 68 year old Willard R. Bowen. Coroner to rule after blood tests. Bowen's wife Mary hospitalized then released. Services held at Carter Funeral Home with burial in Ball Hill Cemetery. Bowen born November 14 1897. Survived by Mary Clem Bowen a son and two daughters, a brother and sisters and seven grandchildren.

Carroll County man Dean McCain, 58, of Delphi route 3, suffered an apparent heart attack Sunday while awaiting a Delphi High School band concert in the Delphi gym. He was rushed by Cornell ambulance to Memorial Hospital in fair condition.

Mr and Mrs John E Brovont of route 1 Mulberry marked their 60th wedding anniversary February 22. Married in 1906 in Scotsville Michigan they moved to the community in 1926. Carroll County woman charged with shooting her 13 year old son Alan to death in February 1963 pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. The family moved from Logansport to a residence near Deer Creek before the murder. She was released from Norman Beatty Hospital after the shooting.
