Local man Frank Sink Returns Home After Eye Injury
Frank Sink, formerly deputy sheriff under Riley Sink, has returned to his home north of Flora after spending several days in an Indianapolis hospital for an eye injury from a tractor accident. Mrs. Anna Helvie, 70, died from a heart attack after reacting to a Saturday night fire at Flora school. Excitement over the blaze at the neighbor’s home caused her collapse in her rocking chair. Robbers Hit Lane Store in Bringhurst
Burglars gained entry by forcing the front door of the Lane Store in Bringhurst and stole $7 in cash along with $40 to $50 worth of merchandise including groceries, tobacco, hosiery, and shoes. The heist was found when employees opened Saturday morning. County Clerk Wilbur Lane owns the store. Deputy Sheriff Anderson investigated.
