Chester R. Landis 55 a well known farmer living five miles southeast of Delphi died Tuesday at St Joseph Memorial Hospital Kokomo after ten days illness. Born August 21 1881 he was a son of David and Elizabeth Landis. Survived by widow Lillian Mae Stellar Landis five children Dolly Aikens Maxine Carter Annette Keith Betty and three brothers C D Landis Funeral services were held Wednesday at Cutler Presbyterian Church. Interment Syracuse Cemetery North Manchester Indiana.

Mrs Mary C N J Howe 80 a Delphi cultural leader died at her South Delphi home after a brief illness. She led Delphi public library efforts building the library in 1904 and served on its board until death. Five paving and bridge contracts on state highways in Putnam Jennings Decatur Steuben Elkhart and Carroll counties were awarded in November by the State Highway Commission.
