Roll Call Captains Named in Christmas Seal Sale Campaign

Delphi completes organization for the Christmas Seal roll call with captains announced by Mrs. Howard Bradshaw. About 250000 seals have been distributed countywide as the thirtieth anniversary drive emphasizes use after receipt. The Carroll County Tuberculosis Association, led by president Mrs. Margaret Aflis, sponsors the effort. Captains cover Delphi districts and local organizations with names including Mrs Florence Hoshaw Ruth McCormick and Miss Mary Louise Clifford among many others. Further details turn to page eight.

Jefferson Township Couple Wed 57 Years

Mr and Mrs Harry Vandervolgen of Jefferson township will observe their 57th wedding anniversary at their home Dec 9 with a family dinner. They have three sons Freeman and George Vandervolgen elect engineers at the coal mines of Tam W Va and Charles Vandervolgen at home. Mr Vandervolgen is 78 and his wife 77.

County farmers win places at Chicago stock grain show

Three Carroll county farmers finished in the money at the International Livestock Exposition grain exhibits in Chicago. John Snowberger of between Delphi and Rockfield won first prize in Yellow Corn special class Region 7. Roy E Snowberger of Rockfield placed sixth in Oats Regions 3 and 7 and fifth in Yellow Corn Region 7. Fred Martin of Delphi took fifth in Yellow Corn special class Region 7. All three winners are well known in the county.

Maxwell dies at home near Delphi famed seed aid innovator

Edward E. Maxwell age 68, originator of seed and soil aids, died at his home near Delphi. He operated a packing plant for Shure-Katch and Deep- t inoculants used in several states. Born November 30, 1868 in Richmondale Ohio, he lived here 40 years. Survived by wife Adelia and two sisters in Ohio. Funeral Tuesday at 2 pm with Rev. Wilbur Day officiating. Burial in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

White County Candidates Dismiss Election Contest Suits

After a partial ballot canvass in White county Democratic contestants defeated in the election withdrew all suits. Partial recount found no basis to reverse results. Special Judge Harry Shultz of Lafayette and Judge Ralph C. McClurg weighed motions to dismiss for surveyor and two commissioner races. Costs charged to the losers.

Jury Indicts Felix On Charge Of Arson

Carroll county grand jury indicted Frank Felix of Americus on a second degree arson charge at a special hearing. Felix confessed to burning the Radnor elevator in September 1931 and sought to involve others after arrest for liquor-law violations. The jury declined to return other indictments.

Zebras and Oracles Clash on Friday Night

The Delphi Oracles travel to Rochester to face the Zebras after three straight losses. Rochester beat Logansport 28-13 last week and Huntington 24-22 on Tuesday. Coplen and Smiley are questionable for Rochester while Delphi lost 26-16 to Rossville in a fast midweek armory game.
