Leonard Shanks Victim Of Gun Accident At Farm
Leonard Shanks a 72 year old Carroll County farmer died Thanksgiving morning from hemorrhaging after being shot in the leg in a hunting accident on the Wolf farm near Deer Creek. The 12 gauge shotgun fired when its trigger snagged a twig. Shanks served on the Carroll County Board of Review and was a 1956 county commissioner candidate. Survived by daughter Reba Shanks and two brothers, funeral held Saturday at Deer Creek cemetery with Rev J Leslie Bell.

Mr and Mrs R E Davidson of the Soldiers Home formerly of Delphi escaped with minor injuries Friday afternoon when their car was rear ended at the junction of highways 25 and 225 near Battle Ground. Damage to the car was about 500 dollars. Both sustained neck injuries but were not hospitalized. Mrs Davidson is Department President of the Indiana American Legion Auxiliary.

Warren Arthur Messick 64, proprietor of the Dog House Cafe in West Delphi, died Tuesday afternoon at home after a six month illness. Born August 4, 1894 in Bloomington Illinois, he married Ersel Sims May 6 1916. Survived by widow two sons Warren A Jr and Joseph W both of Delphi a daughter Mary S Ammerman of Delphi a brother Richard of Rapid City South Dakota. Visitation at Eikenberry funeral home with rites Friday at 2 pm and burial in Pittsburg.
