Child Burned In Propane Tractor Fire At Farm
Michael Kraay eight year old son of Harold and Mrs Kraay tenants on Henry Eaton farm west of town received third degree burns while a propane gas tractor was being filled. The father also burned. both were treated at White County hospital and the boy rushed to Riley hospital Indianapolis in critical condition. The father was treated for burns and shock and released.

Barn Destroyed by Lightning on John Shockley Farm
A barn on the John Shockley farm near Pittsburg was struck by lightning and burned at 4 45 Wednesday morning. Shockley was milking inside as the flames enveloped the structure. The Tri Town ship fire department arrived to find the barn fully engulfed. Hay grain two cows two calves and farm machinery were lost. Shockley saved a tractor a wagon and a trailer from the blaze.

Many relatives attended the funeral of Oscar Bill Baird. Pilot Passenger Escape Injury In Small Plane Crash
A small plane carrying pilot Marvin Bowman of Lima Ohio and passenger Carol Vianco crashed on the Ray McCouch farm five miles south of Delphi Sunday evening. Bowman had minor cuts while Miss Vianco suffered facial and leg cuts and bruises. The takeoff failed to clear utility wires along the Monon tracks, sending the craft into a cornfield and demolishing the aircraft.
