County 4-H Clubs to reorganize and select projects

County 4-H clubs will reorganize with Ralph Maggart announcing eligibility for members over 18 to join and choose new projects. Boys will split into livestock and crops tracks, while girls pursue Home Economics projects like clothing and canning. Local leaders and junior leaders will organize judging and demonstrations with events in April and a state round-up at Purdue in May.

Aaron Leffler Dies by Own Hand at Delphi Route 5

Aaron Leffler aged 58 died by suicide Tuesday afternoon by shooting himself in the temple. His body found in a barn by brother Thomas Leffler near Americus. Coroner H E Klepinger to verdict suicide. Funeral services Thursday at 2 PM Blythe Funeral Parlor officiated by Rev Howard Jenkins. Burial in Pretty Prairie cemetery. Surviving: mother Sarah, two sisters Mrs Riley Sterrett Battle Ground and Quiss Flora at home.

Mayhill Bats for Raymond Springer in Frankfort Appearance

Republic gubernatorial candidate Raymond Springer appears in Frankfort with State Rep B B Mayhill delivering two speeches earlier in the week. Cassman Given Suspended Term in Check Forgery Case

J F Cassman of Delphi pleaded guilty in Winamac circuit court to one count of check forgery. He received a suspended sentence of one to ten years and agreed to reimburse Thornhope Grain company the amount of the check, 156 dollars.

Scholarship and Citizenship Be Basis for School Awards

No perfect attendance awards will be given in Carroll county this year. The attendance officer advised discontinuation. Awards for scholarship satisfactory attendance and commendable citizenship will be given. Meeting postponed due to Mrs. Mark Carter illness. Mrs. Jean Ferrier will entertain next week in her place.

Mrs. Nettie Shanks Dies At Burlington

Nettie Shanks a 67 year old Burlington resident died at her daughter's home Saturday after several months illness. She was a Brethren church member and is survived by two sons Verd and Earnest, nine grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, two sisters Florence Shitar and Maggie Pickering. Funeral services were held Monday 1:30 at the Brethren church with Rev. C. Y. Gilmer officiating. Burial was in Pail Creek cemetery.

Laura Gilliam Indiana University student filed the first absent voter ballot request with County Clerk Wilbur Lane. James Sullivan Dies After Long Illness in Delphi

James Sullivan 73, longtime Delphi resident, died Saturday night at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lafayette after a prolonged illness. Born 1863 in Madison, son of John and age Sullivan, he lived with sister Mrs. Mary Haugh for over 30 years. He belonged to St. Joseph's Church and Lafayette Elks. Survived by sister Mrs. Emma Howard of West Roxbury, Mass., and brother William Sullivan of Indianapolis. Funeral at St. Joseph's Church conducted by Rev. Clifford Reed. burial in St. Joseph's Cemetery.

City Council Rejects Narrowing of State Roads Near Deer Creek

The city council refused permission for the state highway commission to narrow state roads 39 and 18 by the Deer Creek bridge citing opposition, while approving a two year garbage removal contract with Del ph patrons to receive two cans twice weekly in cooler months and three times in warm months.
