Driver guilty in auto death by Gillin verdict
Gillin of Haverford Township found guilty of homicide by vehicle and related charges in the January death of Robin Reybold, a 25 year old Philadelphia woman. The jury acquitted him of involuntary manslaughter but convicted him of DUI and reckless driving. Prosecutor Edward Weiss argued causation hinged on intoxication, while defense witnesses were not offered. Gillin faces five to ten years on all charges with bail continued. appeal expected.

County council approves federal grants across several towns
Delaware County Council backed federal Community grants for Upper Providence Lansdowne Upland Springfield Marple and Darby. Upper Providence gets 4000 from contingency funds plus 19172.30 unexpended funds to finish Weldon Avenue playground. Lansdowne gains broadened use of a 240000 grant for central business district improvements including vacant property acquisition street and sidewalk work landscaping and street furniture.
