Quarantine Fight Hits Florida Teen Over AIDS
A 14-year-old boy confined to a psychiatric ward in Pensacola to prevent AIDS spread will seek release from quarantine and oppose a state dependency order. Judge Frye set a Tuesday hearing to review the over weeklong confinement at University Hospital. Officials say the youth has AIDS exposure but no disease, the first such quarantine in Florida. The state health secretary says the quarantine was a mistake and seeks a custody plan for treatment.
