Delco anti-nukers press Washington plea for test ban
Delaware County Peace activists joined about 500 nationwide in the Test Ban Caravan lobbying Congress. The Delco group met with staff from Rep. Curt Weldon and Rep. Richard Schulze offices to urge support for a bill limiting underground nuclear tests to under one kiloton, while Weldon and Schulze aides said they opposed the amendments. The lawmakers argued tests ensure reliability of the arsenal and aid future arms talks.
