A downtown Philadelphia four story building saw a fatal fire on the first floor around 3:30 a.m. Allan Lee, 39, of the third floor, died at Pennsylvania Hospital. Three others were hospitalized as investigators seek the blaze’s cause.
William Vincent Spencer, 47, of Kings Beach, California, was held in Atlantic County Jail on $500,000 bail after being arraigned on charges of attempted extortion and making terrorist threats. The alleged incident involved threatening to blow gaming balls to obtain $50,000. County officials, including state enforcement leaders, requested high bail.
