Pennsylvania considers adoptee access to birth parents
Harrisburg The Pennsylvania Department of Health proposes a regulation to keep current addresses of biological parents who consent to disclosure. Adoptees 18 and older could access these addresses, with court access for guardians. Rep. Stephen Freind seeks to require court staff to contact natural parents before disclosure, arguing it closes a legal loophole and protects parental privacy.
