In San Angelo on June 24 a rural Texas market shows yearling ewes selling around 5 to 6 dollars per head as large consignments move. Roy Henderson paid 5 dollars each for 4,000 head from Ozona while Crockett County ranchers traded about 15,000 head at 5 to 6 dollars. Prices for mutton yearlings run 4 to 5 cents per pound and steel yearlings at 6 to 6.5 cents. Heifers bring about 50 cents per pound. E. L. Avery shipped 1,500 mixed cattle to corn belt states and Eddie Robbins bought roughly 1,500 mutton goats for future ranch use. He also pays 1.50 per head for good early mixed kids delivery in September.
Three gunmen robbed Farmers State Bank of $3,000 in BLUE MOUND Kansas and escaped after locking six persons in the vault. Police searched the area for the trio after the robbery occurred today in the town at dawn.
The Texas Highway Department announced on Monday that Highway East No. 3 will be open by midweek if weather permits. Workers are building a temporary low bridge over the Nueces River on an old detour road a few miles before Uvalde with concrete slabs supporting heavy timbers. Plans for the main bridge are not yet completed. San Antonio can be reached via Eagle Pass Carrizo Springs and Dilley or via Eagle Pass on Highway 76 to La Pryor Batesville and into Uvalde, and also via Rocksprings and Kerrville.
Judge J. J. Foster, who returned Tuesday from a month in a San Antonio hospital, was resting at home on Lovers' Lane. Family members said the trip home may have tired him, but he was reported to be improving Monday afternoon.
In Tacoma on June 24 Judge Cushman set July 5 for the trial of Mrs Margaret Waley on charges of kidnapping and conspiracy in the $200000 abduction of 9 year old George Weyerhaeuser. In Mexico City a US Embassy official said no arrests may be made in yesterday bomb incident with Ambassador Daniels calling it of no importance as a dynamite bomb damaged embassy grounds.
The Del Rio region will see increasing cloudiness tonight with Tuesday turning partly to mostly cloudy. Yesterday’s high reached 91 degrees and the low 72, with this morning’s low at 72.

Garbage workers in New Orleans demand the resignation of Mayor T Semmes Walmsley after a Friday strike over unpaid pay. They say the move will lead to full payments and blame Huey Long's influence for the protest amid a city administration crisis.
The A. B. Priour residence at 409 Pulliam Street suffered heavy damage to house and contents from a Sunday morning blaze started in the bathroom. Priour, 80, was at Sunday School. a Mexican servant girl discovered the fire. Cause undetermined. Insurance covered the house, contents uninsured. Priour carried $1,000 content insurance lapse June 17. Fire chief R. L. Bradley sustained scalp cuts from falling glass.
May imports from Mexico to the United States through Laredo totaled 512 carloads, up from 260 in May last year, while U.S. exports to Mexico fell to 383 carloads from 664. Leading imports were corn, bananas, lead, antimony, arsenic, and pineapples. exports were headed by automobiles, waste iron, sand and lumber.
Three people are known to have died after a Missouri Pacific Freight train crashed into a field on the outskirts of Little Rock yesterday. Seventeen cars piled up, eight were injured, and city firefighters were burned while battling gasoline-fueled flames.

Two prominent Baptists Dr. George Truett of Dallas and Dr. J H Rush Brooke of London addressed the Northern Baptist Convention in Colorado Springs urging universal religious liberty. Truett, elected president of the Baptist World Alliance, called for unrestricted worship worldwide while citing government interference in the Soviet Union Germany and Mexico.
Sixteen lines report six figures of commerce as eight months wool changes hands across Texas. Sonora Wool and Mohair Company paid 25 cents to Murphey Campbell for 40,000 to 50,000 pounds, while Sanderson and others secured 23 to 26 1/2 cents on multi ten thousands. Statewide sales include 3.5 to 4 million pounds produced this year with large portions tied up in options and a rapid expected completion of wool sales.
COLLEGE STATION June 24 A new burner to kill weeds and underbrush in native pecan groves will be demonstrated at Texas A M College during the farmers short course July 29 to Aug 2. Horticulturist J F Rosborough says the system is more economical and efficient than poisoning trees and is useful for pasture improvement. The burner is a modified plumber's torch using kerosene light furnace oil or distillate. It has been tested by the government in large forests but not before in the South.

The Producers Wool and Mohair Company sold 188000 pounds of short wool on Monday. C B Dutch Wardlaw announced the sale. C D Stokes of Winslow and Company in Boston paid 25 cents a pound for all wool except 6000 to 8000 pounds which sold at 23 cents per pound.
A man and a woman bandit duo, Marguerite Miller of Dewey Oklahoma and Bill Stiles of Oglesby Oklahoma, are in custody after mistaking a pursuing bloodhound for a stray, then adopting it as a pet during a night club holdup pursuit. They were arrested after a day and night search near Pomona Missouri, with authorities linking them to armed robbery cases in Bartlesville Oklahoma and Russell Kansas.
Moviemaking crews from the U S Department of Agriculture captured wind erosion damage on the government soil erosion project near Dalhart. Also filmed were control methods in action. The footage will be compiled into educational talks as films or silent features with lectures.
Rome sources report Premier Mussolini and Captain Eden debated the Italo Ethiopian conflict and possible Ethiopia exclusion from the League if raised by Britain. Officials say the subject may be avoided, while British authorities deem discussion inevitable. They also talked over the Anglo German naval pact and Western European alignment.
Rome June 24 Italian circles report Premier Mussolini refused to accept Captain Eden's explanations of the Anglo German naval accord. Italians predicted that outcomes would emerge from a conference between Mussolini and Britain's roving representative with a possible European air accord. Mussolini said he could not approve the unilateral agreement without Italy and France in the final discussions.
Two Mexicans were bound over to the grand jury in an examining trial before Justice J. P. Ader on Monday morning for burglary of W. H. Dodd’s Langtry store. Bond set at $300. Dodd said he caught them Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the store. He found their pockets filled with shop confections and postal funds. Sheriff A. E. Steinmetz arrested them.
Leo Perrone died when the automobile he rode in overturned on a curve near Calvert. Louis Sample, the driver, was uninjured. The crash occurred last night in Hearne.
Fire crews were called to the TBO Landrum apartments at 418 East Greenwood Street around 3 p.m. Monday after a short in the wiring burned a wire in two pieces. No damage or blaze occurred.
The Toreador and La Ventana will switch to semi weekly publication starting next school year. The college publications committee approved pay raises for the Toreador editor and La Ventana editor, with La Ventana business manager earning about 225 dollars yearly.
