Mrs. Minnie Berg Laid To Rest In City
Funeral services were held this afternoon from the Nelson-Rowan chapel for Mrs. Minnie Berg who died last week at an Elgin hospital. Rev. A G Eklund of the Swedish Mission Church conducted the service and burial followed at Fairview cemetery. A resident for about 50 years she leaves many friends and one son Streeter Vickell a Canadian farmer. Berg was born in Sweden and came to the United States in 1881.

Women Work On Wreaths For Graves In Memorial Day Plan

Wreaths will be laid early next week at all cemeteries, and Memorial Day will include firing squad salutes. The schedule for cemetery visits will be announced soon to allow relatives to attend.

Leo Mongoven, once a DeKalb youth, was arrested in front of a Chicago bank while carrying two 44 calibre revolvers. He is named as a bodyguard for gang figure Bugs Moran. Police found bonds worth $3,000 and $2,472 in cash. bank officials say he tried to force a $5,000 bond purchase at face value.
