Paris reports renewed German delays in paying 1,000,000,000 gold marks due today. Berlin proposes reopening talks on indemnities and possible property confiscation while indicating a loan could be floated only within the wider settlement. The reparations commission dismisses the German note as refusal to pay.
Boy Scouts of DeKalb will hike to the woods on Thursday for a daylong event. They will leave at 11 30 and return about 4 00 pm with cooking lessons and examinations. Dr J A Spickerman leads the day and organizers seek to attract more boys and obtain larger club rooms at Fourth and Lincoln Highway.

Funeral services for Joseph Fulcher, delayed due to Frank Fulcher’s travel from Texas, will be held Friday at 2 20 PM at the Cortland Methodist church. Burial likely in Cortland cemetery. He was the father of Mrs. Harry Cherry of Cortland.
Mr and Mrs Ernest Swift of De Kalb and Mr and Mrs B C Swift of Waterman traveled to Sterling today to visit their brother R K Swift who recently had major surgery. Complications have arisen and little hope remains for his recovery.
