United Press reports in Chicago July 19 that Troy and other union leaders met to decide on accepting tomorrow's wage award from the railway labor board. Officials worry an unauthorized strike could erupt if chiefs delay, though they say no power to accept or reject the award.

Berlin reports Prince Joachim sixth son of the former Kaiser died by self inflicted shooting at his villa in Potsdam. He had long suffered from family strife, rumors of debts, and health issues, with notes noting a troubled love life and wartime notoriety. The heir to the Hohenzollern line was wounded in France, later escaped capture on the Russian front, and married Princess Marie Auguste in 1916.
Cecil McCabe suffered a broken collarbone when his car’s rear axle broke and the vehicle overturned into a ditch on the Lincoln Highway near Maple Park. Passersby Frank Phillips and Henry Shafer found him under the wreck and he was taken to a dwelling for treatment before being moved.

An estimated 50000 arrests would indicate about one in 2000 Americans charged with violation of prohibitions.

He said Brazil will follow its tradition of cooperation with the United States and maintain its policy of paid interference with other nations. He noted a perfect understanding among American nations and described South American foreign offices negotiating diplomatic priorities.
An airplane used by a suspect evaded Scotland Yard by flying from Croydon toward Paris. Police sought the man, who arranged transport after being alerted. the flight departed before officers arrived, allowing his escape to safety.
