The water committee of the city council met last night with a pump manufacturer representative to discuss reopening the north Peart Street well. Improvements aim to restore operation and provide at least 100 gallons per minute, with Commissioner F. B. Petersen in attendance.

He argued he is a business man and worked as a Chicago cleaner agent while federal agents watched for possible tax evasion charges. Moran flew to Chicago to confer with federal authorities about income tax.

Mrs LaVilla Johnessee of Lombard suffered an injury when her car left the road seven miles east of the city and burned after a dance. She underwent an x ray at Glidden Memorial hospital with no broken bones found. The Johnessees and another couple were on their way home from the dance when the vehicle went into a ditch and caught fire. Passersby returned them to Den Kalb and they were taken to the Nehring home.
In Washington lawmakers clash over a 60 million dollar drought relief bill. Republican Leader Tilson branded food loans as dole and warned they undermine local responsibility. Democrat Aswell defended loans as necessary and insisted the bill preserves farmer equity.
