In 1901 a shadow of delinquent taxes looms over the city and surrounding townships with eight thousand dollars unpaid. Taxpayers are urged to see through a corrupt system, challenge Gleason Telishaw and Hall, and demand accountability before election time.
Baldy Corwin and Charles White moved L Archambaults buggy from Brown’s livery to Archambault residence on Perry Street. Corwin, riding in fatigue, delivered a bizarre sermon about tax dodging halos while urging Democratic friends to relocate to First ward. The scene ended with an odd executive-session murmur.
The marriage license was issued yesterday to Michael Stoll and Cecelia Karst, both of this city. The paper also notes probate actions for John O. Cameron and administrator with will annexed, plus various local notices and advertisements.
John Leonhardt died at his home in Florida this morning at the age of 88 years 11 months and 26 days. He leaves three daughters and three sons. One daughter is Mrs. John Cantlon of this city. Funeral services will be held tomorrow with visitation at 1 and church services at 1:30 led by Rev. Engerman of Holgate.

Born September 3 1825, he married twice, one daughter Ruey from his second union with Mrs Wells of Middletown Ohio. A once prominent physician, he gave up practice due to illness. Funeral Wednesday at 1 30 from his state home with Rev George S May officiating.
