Harriet Banting Parker born Feb 12 1812 in Clermont County Ohio died Sept 28 1899 near Ayersville Ohio aged 87 7 16. Married to John S Parker in Clermont County they lived in New Albany Indiana Missouri Cincinnati and Lexington Missouri where she aided Union efforts rescuing a son from Confederate capture and carrying messages. After 1863 the family fled north returning to Clermont County in 1865 her husband died leaving her with two children she joined Defiance County years ago and remained a devout Methodist. She is survived by seven children forty five grandchildren forty five great grandchildren and was revered as Grandma across the community.
