Pretty Home Wedding at East Defiance

Anna King, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A W King of East Defiance, married Fred Nellis of Cleveland in a Wednesday ceremony at the King home. Rev. Mueller officiated as guests filled the parlor and dining room for a six course wedding supper. Eighty guests attended from near and far, and the couple planned a possible trip through the East with no definite home chosen yet.

Tramp Robbery Turns Fatal in Bryan Store Raid

A sensational Bryan fatality followed a harness shop robbery. Three tramps entered W B H Riley’s store during dinner, stole cash, and fled east. Marshal Herdley shot at the trio as they fled three miles east near Stryker. one man fell dead from a back-shot wound. The dead man, ~30, well dressed, carried a rabbit’s foot. Remaining suspects surrendered. part of the $50 loot recovered. Local residents react with sympathy for the marshal. Additional city notes report measles, arrivals, executrix appointment, and civic developments including oil prospecting and rail-track work near Defiance and Lima.
