The Real Issues in Defiance Campaign
The real issue is the new city code and its aim to reduce political influence in police and fire appointments. A non partisan public safety board would rank candidates by merit, preventing political rewards. Republicans are urged to back candidates who will manage costs and deliver good service on April 6, not use the election for partisan gain.
