Earl Lewis Rath son of Mr and Mrs W S Rath was born in Defiance on October 5 1885 and died in Denver Colorado on June 25 1907 at age 23 years 5 months 20 days He learned cook trade in Alma Michigan and traveled widely He married Linda Ponzenelli in Omaha Nebraska March 1907 He fell ill with appendicitis in Denver underwent an operation but died The funeral was held Sunday at the residence on N Clinton Street and burial was in Riverside The family thanks neighbors friends the United Brethren male quartet and Rev Shupp for sympathy
