Teachers Institute Session At Central Building

The Williams County Teachers Institute met at the central building with morning and afternoon sessions. Topics included history teaching methods, grammar, geography and civics, with talks by Supts Secrest Sharkey and Mitchell. The program featured music, field trips to Island Park, and a closing business session with resolutions.

Steps Collapse Injures Two Men At Street Carnival

At a city street carnival on Fifth and Clinton two bicycle steps failed sending Arthur Rose and Johnnie Route plummeting about thirty feet. Rose sustained a broken forearm, dislocation, and shock. Route suffered a deep forehead gash and a split finger, both bruised. Rose faces about two months off work. Route will remain bedridden for at least a week. Nat Reiss paid Route’s medical bill.
