It frequently happens that people Are stricken with diseases that the Learned physicians Are not Able to figure out until death has claimed its own and the victims have been numbered with their fathers. Society is frequently stricken with ailments equally As mysterious while political organizations have even been Laid out on the Cooling Board from like causes. For Twenty five years the democratic party was on the Cooling Board about half the time. But it never did actually give up the ghost because it had so Many sins to its credit that it was afraid to die. The Greenback party really died while the prohibition party is As dead As a door Nail but done to seem to know it. The democrats have profited by their experience and Are Seldom afflicted with the same disease two years in succession. It is said there is another political organization in process of formation but if the world May judge from the principles enunciated by the profound architects who have charge of the incubator that is to bring Forth the new wonder the loom of Public opinion has already Woven its winding Sheet. Tent to live out Side of it and when the time comes that they can no longer enter it As the representatives of a trusting and admiring constituency they go in As the Pretorias of a Hierarchy that has done More to corrupt american politics than All other causes combined. Seems to have escaped the notice of the politicians especially those who Are in Power but the probabilities Are that sooner or later the fact that there is a dangerous influenza abroad in the land will find its Way before them. Many men can be called to mind who have passed through terms of office at Washington and come out clean handed. There Are Many men there now who have not nor will they become contaminated by the evils that Fence and Cabin them in. But then they Are powerless in the face of the social Politico Combine that can close the doors of Congress in the face of the people who would ask for a hearing that they might file protests against political misdeeds that Are americans shame and abhorrent to All men who have not made crime a bed fellow. The Case of the people of the state of Ohio against a Man by the name of Payne who holds a seat in the a United states Senate by right of Purchase is a notable example. The Best men in the state regardless of their political affiliations protested against the crime but to the shame of both the leading political parties they were refused a hearing and the rape was ratified by the silence of the Senate of the United states. What could have been More hateful to a ree and Independent people then such transaction what could have brought about such a result but the social Politico Combine that holds Washington in its grasp and is now putting out its tentacles that it May take in the entire Union. Last Winter it fastened on the senator ship in Ohio and gave it to a Man who was recent a enumerated As a citizen of new York. North Richland. A Al Carriage at the office at All hours to show property free of expense. Chas. E. Bronson. Defiance o. Every Waterproof Collar cuff that can be relied on be up to the Mark Oxtot to spoilt there was a time in the history of this state when it was admitted that the people were capable of administering their own political affairs without the Aid or assistance of politicians outside of the Commonwealth. During the past ten years numerous deposed idols of different political parties not Only from this but from other states have drifted Down to Washington and new York and have formed a political Hierarchy that has taken on itself the management of party affairs in the Interior. Republicans As Well As democrats Are members of this King making or rather ticket making machine that is made up of Railroad wreckers and played out politicians. With unlimited wealth at its command this Hierarchy could not Well help becoming a powerful Factor. It has come into this state and its Money has named men who should have the highest offices in the gift of the people. That Hierarchy is the disease that is sweeping the country like a sirocco. To Young and old and Middle aged men. But that is not All. Many of the Able statesmen who Are sent Down to Washington by the people Are not averse to flitting with this Noble band of patriots whose Days of usefulness in their native states have come to an end and thus of late years it has come to pass that the political slates of both of the leading political parties have been fixed up in committee rooms at the Capitol. The rank and file were ignorant of such a state of affairs for Many years but now that they have come to understand the Mode o operation those persons who Are stil seeking political favors should not forget that things have come to such a pass that the people in this the fairest Domain among the Union of states will not longer submit to being led around like prize Kine at a county fair. They do not propose that any Hierarchy in or outside of the state shall longer give to unworthy men that which has been fairly earned Anc won by men who have the Confidence and respect of the masses. It was not later than 1889 that the republicans in Ohio were Given an exhibition of the merciless Power of Politica Bosses and the refugees in the East in the defeat of one of the most Brilliant men that Ever took up the Republican Standard. A Man who was True to every Promise made by his party a Man who was Ever fearless in his denunciations of the party Anc men who sought to disrupt the Union a Man who did not hesitate to denounce in unmeasured terms the corrupt Means employed to seat old Man Payne in the United states Senate a Man who was Defeated because As a representative citizen of Ohio he Hac dared to stand in the Way of a Caba that had covered the people of the state with their first and greatest shame. Is the attention of those statesmen who have the welfare of the party at heart that saved the Union from wreck and ruin during the dark Days of the rebellion should not forget that the people View this new Power with alarm. It has crept Down on organizations like a Glacier and will grind them to powder if it is not broken up. The people Are not Blind. They have become tired of standing merely a was my followers out in Ohio. They have become tired of the censor ship of played out political Hacks who have deserted their own states and located in the East the Money bags of Wall Street and the inflated statesmen who have come to look upon the Earth As their Domain and the people thereon their subjects. The people Are becoming restive and to that unrest May be traced the cause that has led so Many away from the organizations that they have stood by for the past Twenty five or thirty years. It is not so much that they believe in the distorted fancies of new organizations As that they have tired of conditions that have made them fish for selfish and designing men. They want a change from the old methods. They want to get Back to the doctrine that the peace Prosperity and welfare of the nation rests with the people and not that the welfare of the people rests in the hands of a half Hundred men. It is not very pleasant to be com polled to talk so plainly on this subject but the sooner political leaders come to recognize the fact that it is the Wisest plan to give the people a hearing when Ever they ask it and assist in eradicating evils that disgrace the nation the better. The Man faction or party that will deny them that right will have reason to regret it in the end. The Republican party has made Good its promises to the people. When it gives to every american citizen the right to vote and have his vote counted one of the grandest chapters in its history will have been completed. When it assists in establishing the fact that Washington is no longer a City of Refuge for political adventurers who May corrupt Legislatures and buy seats in the United states Senate when it assists in removing the social ice bergs that Shields the a sacred Oxx of the Senate from the eyes of the common Herd there will be less friction while the Harmony will supplant the route step in campaigns yet to come.
