Pinafore at the Opera House Next Tuesday Evening

The popular comic opera Pinafore will be presented at the Opera House next Tuesday by a first class company. Local citizens report a large turnout expected after a recent reunion was rained out.

Finger Hart Accident Injures 7-Year-Old Fisher Boy

Last Saturday fore noon Johnnie Moore aged seven, son of Patrick Moore, sustained a painful accident while playing with fish hooks. The hook pierced the end of his right index finger after it worked through his pocket. Dr Holbrook removed the hook and the boy is now recovering.

Defiance Schools Prepare for Fall Term

The Defiance Union Schools announce the fall term starts Monday September eight with a staff list led by Superintendent Ashbaugh. The high school includes Miss Cora McDonald and Miss Emma Richmond, with grammar and primary teachers across East Buipine and other buildings, including Miss Kate Backus and Mrs. T. H. Ashton.
