Cutting Affray Between Neidhart and Schondel Over Money

Neidhart and Schondel, Germans, argued over money on a Wednesday afternoon last August. A knife wound to Schondel near the jugular nearly killed him. both sides offer different accounts. Schondel lay in critical condition for days before recovering. Neidhart, bound over to the Common Pleas in $50, was arrested by Constable Seibert.

Farmer Edward Jones shoots himself while hunting near Defiance

Edward Jones, a farmer about four and a half miles west of Defiance on the Hicksville pike, accidentally discharged his gun while resting it on a fallen tree. The load lodged in his shoulder blade causing a serious wound and possible collar bone injury. He received further medical treatment as his condition remains precarious.

Miss Carrie Boutell returned to Ada last Monday to resume school. J Adams attended the 21st O V V I reunion in Columbus Grove last Thursday. Miss Libbie Phillips of Defiance township visits the neighborhood. John Lengel moved to the Worthington farm and Mr Worthington heads south. Mr and Mrs Vance were at Sherwood for a church meeting. Adda and Sadie Adams visit North Baltimore and Findlay. Ayersville school starts next Monday. some township schools have not secured winter term teachers. A C Henry makes major improvements to his slaughter shop.

The southbound passenger train leaves at 9:30 a.m. Rev J W Hickman will lecture at Sharon next Sunday evening. Our absence last week left items scarce. Next week we will try to do better.
