Defiance Man Harmening Found Dead On Farm
Friday evening residents learned Fred Harmening, a well known Defiance citizen, was found dead on his farm four miles southwest. He had left home Monday to work, was seen at the farm, then disappeared until his body was found in a ditch likely from an apoplectic spasm. Coroner Dr. Aldrich suspects suffocation. Funeral at St. Paul's Lutheran conducted by Rev. J. Deindorfer drew a large crowd praising his temperate, industrious life.
