Detroit reports Blaine leading with 3,452 in ninety precincts. With additional counts from 131 precincts including Jackson East Saginaw and Port Huron wards, Blaine totals 20,746 while Cleveland has 17,115 Butler 8,912 and St. John 3,541.
Madison report at 1 AM shows 210 of 1,200 towns and precincts in the state tabulating a Democratic gain of about 6,900 over 1880. With remaining precincts reporting, Cleveland looks likely to carry the state. Both Republican and Democratic state committees claim the presidential vote.
