Milford man charged with stealing sheep from Kenner
Hibben Cheyney of Milford is arrested for allegedly stealing a flock of sheep from Kenner. Kenner traced the flock from pasture to Cheyney’s vicinity and to a schoolhouse, with Cheyney later found shearing. Cheyney was bound over in 300 dollars to await Common Pleas Court as prosecutors struggle to prove ownership and identify the sheep.

Drowning of Willie Coup in Maumee River Near John Schneiders
Friday evening about 6 30 Willie Coup aged 15 son of William Coup of the Second ward drowned in the Maumee behind John Schneiders while bathing with about twenty others near a raft of logs. He struggled and sank after being aided by friends who were nearly drawn under by the current. His body was recovered two hours later downstream about 200 feet from where last seen. Charley Snyder helped and narrowly escaped drowning while aiding others.
