At the school hall last Friday night a brilliant reception featured a high order literary program with a Dream of Fair Women interpretation. Alva C. Flickinger as the dreamer and a cast including Fannie Wisler Helen of Troy and Gertie Squire Joan of Arc drew praise as over two hundred guests enjoyed a warm sociable banquet and lively entertainment.

College notes and visits highlight fall term opening
The 13 week Fall term begins August 10 with S C Gloud at the Normal College. Mrs Hogue leads classes this week while the street outside was repaired. Sup J C W Butler and a friend visited last week. Prof Hogue attends the State Teacher's Association at Chautauqua. Miss Hamilton of Hicksville with Miss Nellie Moore visited Friday. The college issued a new circular on the value of education and how to get an education. Miss Clara Moninger prints society programmes on the typewriter. Prof Minckwitz visits Hicksville and will go to Columbus next week for a Teacher's Life Certificate exam.
