The region enjoys general good health with ongoing agricultural activity. Defiance offers a favorable forecast for beer next Friday while Georgetown anticipates a new railroad. Early potatoes look promising and Hartshorn and Strusaker are drilling a well for Christ Vollmer.

Rain Refreshes Delaware Township Fields and Local Happenings

The rain revived the fields as Mr. George Holton and Paul Hagen of Mark Center visited the village. John Rook heads to Michigan for work with John Seymour on the C J and M line. The C J and M R R crosses the B and O in engine and flat cars travel toward Bryan by September first. G F Brenner plans moving goods to North Baltimore. John Rock will stay employed for twelve months. The P O B of A Lodge No 60 plans a basket picnic at West Unity on the 20th hosted by Lodge 67 with speeches by M B Chase and other state officers. Four new buildings rise, three frame and one brick, and a brisk, cheerful outlook grows. Rumors of a large brick reach the town as residents wait and pray. Republicans wake to political realities and count on more votes this year than in the last decade in Delaware Township. A caucus will choose delegates to the county convention.
