A vicious dog owned by Gideon Blanchard bit Gordon Gill on the right arm last evening near Wayne and Arabella streets. The animal, reported to have bitten several children, should be killed.
A shopper in a local dry goods shop challenged a talkative salesman who boasted about stockings. She asked if he wore women's hose and, upon his awkward reply, told him to stop talking. The incident occurred a few days ago.
Local notes report Bunersburg school enrollment and attendance, with a 60 day term and courses in reading writing arithmetic spelling grammar and many others. Community items mention political banners, the Blaine and Logan pole parade, officers voices, and local civic chatter.

John Paul Hall of Terre Haute Ind formerly of this place bought John Highline s farm for 3000 dollars and will move soon. Jacob W Myers moved on his new farm last week Eli Myers bought the grocery stock of J W Myers and can be found behind the counter at all times. Misses Irene and Maggie Ice leave soon to attend graded school but destination not decided. S O Mansfield boasts the county s finest young peach orchard Farmers report oats cutting delays due to heavy rains and wheat ricks suffer damage.
Early morning assault as John Beal of Perry street fires from darkness at two burglars near P Kuhn’s premises. The men flee over the fence, officers search without clues, Beal’s marksman shot missed but near contact reported. Authorities say burglars were seen along Perry street around 2 am.
Thomas Bays visits Bryan area and Milford township while plans move to form a Camp of the Sons of Veterans. N. Smith acts as pro tempore Mustering Officer with growing support for Civil War veterans eligibility. Local notes report events at fairs, church meetings, and small-town happenings including a fatal jury verdict and a child’s funeral.

The 38th and 68th O. V. I. veterans in Defiance announce a reunion, to begin September 1 with a camp-fire on the Fort grounds and continue September 2. Ex-soldiers from other regiments and Bishop Post No. 22 are invited, with families urged to attend and bring picnic baskets for an old fashioned gathering.
H Heerdegan & Co in Defiance Ohio asks all debtors to call at their store and settle accounts. If not settled by September 15, the matter will be turned over to the Justice of the Peace for collection. July 30. n32sep18.
